Repair the failing CI and scanner paths, preserve the routing/proof audit, and make runtime and assurance claims match executed evidence. The original audit, Agda modules and quarantined Logtalk source remain in the repository, including the routing and rule-engine report and the source-bound proof-status ledger.
Published changes
Current head: 3f475120eaefffec9c964f433e26d9f6a85bb526.
Repair the original Agda, Cargo Audit, reusable Rust audit and T1 Guix failures. All four passed at d11ba46. The Agda changed-file selector also drains its input under pipefail; the 20,001-path regression reproduced the former false negative.
Retain concurrent main changes through b7221ae and the official regenerated native lock from run41917538023. No native identity or checksum was hand-edited.
Correct the plural prover route and GraphQL default/override contract. The current follow-up adds an actual binary-without-override startup test at 127.0.0.1:8082.
Bound version probes, close their stdin and kill/reap cancelled or expired children. Preserve hostname resolution, legitimate unavailable-IPv6 handling, and zombie-aware process controls without treating inspection failures as success.
Permit fixed-name static-analysis artifacts to be replaced on a rerun; same-run rerun execution still needs its own receipt.
Add the missing real Chapel final link and runtime initialization, with distinct real/stub modes, compiler-derived dependencies and behavioral controls. Both container recipes now include build.rs/build_support; the alternate also includes workspace members, benches and a locked build.
Executed qualification
The preceding head 346a31df421e7dc4972119d71b49684a0e6ffda3 has exact-tree receipts: merge checkout c8d1605 has the identical tree d2d7ae58b7016d8a37d754a6618c21b4a3f46195.
Both real corpus-hazard ingestion tests ran in those suites. They establish detection of the checked-in Isabelle/Lean hazards, not theorem validity or a severity exemption. The raw Critical findings remain.
Current 3f requires its own qualification. Its real Chapel job now passes export checks, five native-link controls and the Zig bridge build, but the packaged compiler's runtime-layout query still fails. Formatting and two new Sonar findings are being corrected; the existing #416 waiver has not been widened.
Panic Attack PR258 must qualify upstream before consumer adoption. The older scanner correctly reports incomplete coverage, and the fleet deposit must not treat that as a successful scan. The original audit's open semantic proof obligations, current security/quality findings, actual review state and required checks remain distinct from a passing test suite. No live learning or permanent estate-wide closure is claimed.
…ecked module
PROOF-POLICY §2.1 canonical invocation now runs and passes:
agda --safe --without-K --cubical-compatible src/Echidna/MetaChecker.agda
exit 0, 98s cold, 9 modules + 214 stdlib modules, 0 postulates, 53
-W[no]UnsupportedIndexedMatch warnings at 5 sites. Recorded as a limit
(--cubical-compatible is not --cubical; --cubical fails inside stdlib 2.1).
- AxiomTrackerCompleteness.agda was outside every gate and did not parse.
Fixed (Data.Sum import; clean-left-neutral; new worst-ub-right) and wired
into MetaChecker. CI now fails if any module yields no interface.
- New: Integrity.agda (E11; proves the invariant dispatch.rs 642/848/998 and
solver_integrity.rs 359 violate), ClampTrust.agda (ClampTrustBounds rewrite),
Receipt.agda (receipt vs warrant, from epistemic-types@5422cd5).
- meta-checker flags in CI; PROOF-STATUS R4 argued->proven plus R9-R11;
PROOF-NEEDS + report §10; D9 cross-reference.
Grade unchanged at Mathesis Grade 3: no Rocq/Lean leg ran (no reachable
release host), so R5 stays open and no leg is reported as passing.

Summary
Listener and container behaviour .machine_readable/descriptiles/META.a2ml, src/interfaces/graphql/*, container/*, Containerfile, stapeln.toml
GraphQL defaults to 127.0.0.1:8082 and reads ECHIDNA_GRAPHQL_ADDR. Container startup uses server, health probes target /api/health, and the runtime entrypoint uses /app/echidna.
Health-lock, version-probe, parser and conversion errors are returned or handled. FFI message and error buffers use thread-local storage with documented lifetimes.
Runs dependency audits through repository scripts, provisions selected prover tools and runs backend-specific tests. Guix resolves a documented packaged subset.
Static-analysis and manifest validation .github/workflows/static-analysis-gate.yml, scripts/ci/static-analysis-evidence.sh, scripts/ci/test-static-analysis-evidence.sh, .github/workflows/dogfood-gate.yml, .github/hooks/validate-a2ml.sh, scripts/ci/test-manifest-validator-regressions.sh
Uses receipts to qualify scanner results and deposit findings. Manifest checks gain regression coverage, and the dogfood gate requires successful validation outcomes.
Workflow and repository records .github/workflows/*, Containerfile, archive/logtalk/*, docs/SSG_ROADMAP.adoc, docs/HTTP-CLIENT-COMPATIBILITY.adoc, docs/PROOF-STATUS.adoc
Updates workflow pins and action-lock candidate generation. Repository records describe the Logtalk quarantine and revise proof, compatibility and roadmap status.

Correct the opening integrity guarantee.
The new caveat at Lines 106–111 says no caller attaches an integrity checker. This opening statement still says solver binaries are checked before invocation. Readers can therefore rely on a guarantee the current pipeline does not provide. Update the invariant to state that solver identity is currently assumed.

The review asks the author to confirm that the external Hypatia consumer accepts an omitted report-format key. This is a verification request, not a defect in the diff.
The inspected evidence does not support a defect. No repository-owned consumer reads this key, and the external consumer's source is not in the checkout. The report records the removal but does not state the consumer's default. Nothing in the inspected material shows that an omitted key causes a failure.
Cargo fmt --check failed in rust-ci: rustfmt prefers breaking after the
'=' when the whole expression fits on the continuation line, which this
one does (95 cols). Matches the existing idiom at src/rust/server.rs:71
and :1043 rather than the chain break I wrote first.
Note for review: rust-ci / Cargo audit and Cargo audit (security) fail
repo-wide since 2026-10-30 on branches with no dependency changes (this
one included) — pre-existing, not addressed here.

Substantive (my claims were wrong or the model was vacuous):
- Receipt.agda: the 'discriminating check' was a parameter that no function
could supply (≈-cross inhabits its domain), so that section proved nothing.
Replaced with a second frame: same worlds, sharper accessibility, a real
receipt, and coarse-yet-sharpened stating the contrast.
- Receipt.agda: proven-with-postulates asserted the same type as proven,
erasing the policy's distinction; it now carries a named axiom.
- ARCHITECTURE.adoc opening invariant still claimed binaries are
integrity-checked before invocation while the detail section says the step
never runs. Reworded; solver identity is now stated as assumed.
- PROOF-STATUS: 'No row is above argued' contradicted R4/R9/R10/R11.
- Integrity.agda: scope stated (digests, not bytes); sharpness consequence
now proved rather than asserted in a comment.
Real defects:
- container/Containerfile healthcheck probed /health; the server serves
/api/health — the container would go unhealthy after start. Same for the
k9 health/readiness probes (there is no /ready route at all).
- agda-meta-checker.yml closure step compared totals and used a
non-recursive glob; now checks each source against its own interface.
- install-proof-toolchains.sh recipe: register the stdlib (a download alone
does not resolve the depend:), and run agda from meta-checker/.
- Missing SPDX headers on the three new Agda modules.
- QUICKSTART: /api/verify_parallel also reaches the dispatcher.
- Stale last-updated/L last-updated metadata; ClampTrust header named a
theorem that does not exist.

Addressed in 4b6fd97. Grouped by what actually mattered — the first group is
where my own claims were wrong, which is the part worth reading.
Claims that were wrong (fixed)
Receipt.agda — the "discriminating check" was a (w-here ≈ w-there → ⊥)
parameter, and ≈-cross inhabits that domain, so no caller could ever supply
it and the section proved nothing. Replaced with a second frame: same
worlds, sharper accessibility, a real receipt, plus coarse-yet-sharpened
stating the contrast in one type. That is a stronger result than the vacuous
one, and it is the point of the module.
Receipt.agda — Asserts proven-with-postulates asserted the same
unconditional Receipt as Asserts proven, which erases exactly the
distinction §5 exists to draw. It now carries a named Axiom, with postulates-name-an-axiom as the witness.
Integrity.agda / PROOF-STATUS R9 — the model is digest-level, so
"substituted binary" means "a binary whose digest differs"; content-level
collision resistance is the comparator's ≈d-sound field. Stated in the
module header, in R9, and the sharpness consequence is now proved
(sharpness-blocks-soundness) instead of asserted in a comment.
MetaChecker.agda — "0 postulates, 0 assumptions" conflated the two. --safe rules out postulates; Integrity is genuinely conditional on Hash.≈d-sound. Said so.
ARCHITECTURE.adoc opening invariant contradicted its own detail section:
it claimed binaries are integrity-checked before invocation while §Integrity
says the step never runs. Reworded — solver identity is now stated as
assumed, certificate reproduction keeps its claim.
PROOF-STATUS — "No row in this file is above argued" contradicted the
four rows this PR promotes. Rewritten: four proven, every independent leg
still open, which is what Grade 3 means.
QUICKSTART-USER.adoc — /api/verify_parallel also calls ProverDispatcher::verify_proof_parallel, so /api/prove is not the only
path to the dispatcher.
Real defects (fixed)
container/Containerfile healthcheck probed /health; the server registers /api/health. After this PR's entrypoint.sh fix the container would start
and then go unhealthy. The k9 health_check/readiness_check had the same
problem, and /ready is not a route at all.
agda-meta-checker.yml closure step compared totals and used a
non-recursive src/Echidna/*.agda glob, so a stray interface could offset a
missing module. It now checks each source against its own interface by module
name. (Interfaces live under _build/<version>/agda/, not beside the
sources — verified, not assumed.)
scripts/install-proof-toolchains.sh — the recipe downloaded the stdlib
without registering it (a download alone does not resolve depend:), and
ran agda from the repo root where src/Echidna/... does not resolve.
Missing SPDX headers on all three new .agda modules. The PR checklist
claimed they were present; they were not. Corrected.
docs/ECOSYSTEM-INTEGRATION.adoc and NEUROSYM.a2ml stale last-updated.
ClampTrust.agda header listed a clamp-roundtrip obligation that does not
exist (the theorem is clamp-idempotent) and mis-stated the count.
Not changed, with reasons
DEBT D9's Uninitialized sentence and the missing [source, bash] blocks on
D9/D12: the register's command-per-entry convention is repo-wide and older
than this PR; changing three entries here would make the file inconsistent
rather than consistent. Worth a separate sweep.
ECOSYSTEM-INTEGRATION "loaded by nothing": scoped to this repository, and
the report marks the finding argued for exactly that reason. Leaving the
hedge where it is.

rust-ci / Cargo check + clippy + fmt now passes (a68b601) — the earlier
failure was mine: rustfmt breaks after = when the expression fits on the
continuation line, and I had used a chain break. Cargo audit and T1 Guix manifest check fail repo-wide / on infrastructure and are unrelated
to this branch.

Re-review requested: the findings from the previous review are addressed in 4b6fd97 (see the reply above) and your autofix commits are in 59e88cd and 1283392. The corpus still type-checks after those edits (agda --safe --without-K --cubical-compatible, exit 0), and rust-ci / Cargo check + clippy + fmt is green.
The standing CHANGES_REQUESTED is what blocks the merge; please post an updated review.

Both cargo-audit jobs on #455 reported the same advisory. Update the
root lock entry to 0.13.5 using the crates.io index checksum. The index
declares identical dependencies for both versions. Verify hosted Cargo
audit and locked build. The fuzz workspace has no pulldown-cmark entry.
Replace repeated Agda and cargo-audit source bootstraps with checksum-verified upstream releases. Audit both lockfiles and update vulnerable dependencies. Reject missing or unselected live prover tests, provision real Chuffed, resolve the explicit Guix package subset, repair canonical reusable callers, and correct proof-model evidence with targeted rejecting controls.
Provide an opt-in, read-only official actions.lock refresh candidate for the published workflow changes; canonical lock verification remains required.
Restore merged-tree type-checking for pull requests that touch meta-checker/.
The Agda job now checks out the pull request head commit (ref: ${{ github.event.pull_request.head.sha || github.sha }}). Before this change, the default checkout for a pull request combined the PR with the current main. That let the type-check cover the merged tree.
The job now type-checks only the PR branch. If main changes a meta-checker/ module that the PR branch lacks, and the PR is incompatible with that change, the job can pass while the merged tree fails. The committed branch ruleset does not require branches to be up to date, so the PR can merge while behind main. The post-merge push run then becomes the only detection point.
Restore pre-merge coverage of the merged tree. Either check out the merge ref for pull requests again, or merge the base branch into the checkout before bash scripts/ci/check-agda.sh runs. A merge-ref checkout can fail when a pull request conflicts with main. Keep that failure visible rather than skipping the type-check.

The assertion at tests/live_prover_suite.rs:162-166 accepts any non-empty string except unknown. It does not check how the string was produced. A version() that returns a fixed identifier passes this check whenever the binary is on PATH. The merge-base ChuffedBackend::version() returned "chuffed" without running the executable. The current implementation runs --help, so that case is fixed at head.
No other exercised assertion rejects a constant response. emit_live_result records success whenever version is Some. A future regression of this kind would pass CI. The file header and the assert_version_reachable comment state that the check confirms the subprocess wiring. The current assertion does not confirm that.
Add a test whose pass condition depends on the executable actually running. Base the condition on an observable effect of the invocation, not on the returned string. Do not compare the returned string with an expected output or token. A constant that matches that output or token would still pass. Keep the existing non-empty check.
Define the invocation for each backend. Chuffed uses --help, SPASS runs with no argument, and the other inspected backends use --version.

that the executable was invoked, rather than relying on the returned version
string. Cover the backend-specific invocation: Chuffed uses `--help`, SPASS runs

Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
ChuffedBackend::version requires fzn-chuffed --help to exit successfully and print a nonempty line to stdout. A usable binary whose help text goes to stderr, or whose help invocation exits nonzero, will now be reported as unavailable.
Chuffed version checks fail, including the newly required CI smoke check, although the solver can run.
This can occur when: The configured Chuffed executable uses either of those help-output conventions.

Move GraphQL to8082 with tested configuration errors and migration notes. Keep full DEED/K9 structural coverage while avoiding repeated shell walks of large corpora. Propagate truthful proof/runtime scope, least-privilege workflow permissions and canonical standards coordinates. Generate lock-only repair candidates through the complete canonical repair chain.
…tion
Keep exact reviewed workflow SHAs while moving the transferred standards mirror caller and canary scanner to their canonical repositories. Use sha256sum -c - so the mandatory elan checksum check works in BusyBox containers. The previous official lock exposes the transferred owner's identity mismatch; regeneration for this new source is still required and no native lock metadata is edited by hand.
Reject failed GPU version probes, retain hostname IPC support, and add
process and address regressions. Drain Agda path matching, support scanner
artifact retries, and correct active routing and assurance documentation.
Apply unchanged official native lock output from run41912284629,

The generated lock blob is411417cad0b17d4cd672e2840583f48b870cb810;
workflow action references are unchanged by this follow-up.
Local runtime is unavailable. New Rust regressions and the combined source
require hosted validation; no local execution result is claimed.
Merge live main 6dbfea5 into PR455 head 87c557a using verified full source blobs and git merge-file against common ancestor 744c86c. All ten authored workflow/Cargo paths merged without textual conflict. Main's nine workflow dependency updates are retained.
The fuzz lock already contained main's exact rustls 0.23.46 package and checksum. It remains byte-identical to the branch, preserving its other audit repairs. TOML parsing and all 329 package / 816 dependency-edge resolutions passed; no Cargo check or audit was executed in the replacement environment.
IMPORTANT: retain the branch's actions.lock blob 411417c unchanged as an explicitly STALE TRANSITIONAL INPUT. The merged workflow references require fresh official generation through the existing ci:refresh-actions-lock path and canonical checks before this merge is qualified. The d11 generation receipt is not evidence for the merged workflow graph. No native lock data was text-merged or invented.
Unreferenced merge candidate for review; no branch/ref update, workflow dispatch or protection change is part of its creation.

Bound the Chuffed version probe.
The new ChuffedBackend::version call can wait indefinitely for a configured executable that does not exit. The version callers do not impose a timeout. Use a short limit and kill_on_drop(true) so timeout cancellation terminates the child process.

Trivial · Exercise the binary with the default address · startup.rs:77-130
The startup tests always set ECHIDNA_GRAPHQL_ADDR, so they do not exercise the default branch in src/interfaces/graphql/main.rs. Testing an extracted default-value helper alone is insufficient because the binary could bypass that helper or use a different default. Add an integration test that removes ECHIDNA_GRAPHQL_ADDR, starts the actual binary, and checks readiness on 127.0.0.1:8082.

Apply the unchanged six-hunk output from workflow-linter run41917538023,
job126881062669, generated against exact source b7221ae.
The output blob 71c7b2f matches the logged patch.
No native identity or checksum metadata was hand-edited.
Apply the three exact rustfmt hunks from hosted job126883599589.
Change only test logic beyond that formatting: inspect process state with
ps instead of treating kill -0 PID existence as liveness, retain the
one-second polling window, and never reap Tokio-owned children. Known
zombie/dead states count as terminated; malformed/failed inspection is
an error, with cleanup attempted before assertions. Add classifier controls.
Skip the IPv6 loopback probe only for AddrNotAvailable, Unsupported, or
target-specific Linux GNU x86-64 EAFNOSUPPORT97. Rust1.99.1 leaves that errno
uncategorized. Other bind failures remain failures; add rejecting controls.
No production probe behavior or dependency changed.
No local Rust build or test execution is claimed. A bounded local
Python-owned live/zombie/reap observation could not qualify ps: it returned
exit1 with `fatal library error, lookup self`, which remains an error case.
All Python-owned children were cleaned up. Hosted qualification is required.
Apply the same one-to-ten-second probe timeout and kill-on-drop contract
used by the repaired GPU backends. Close stdin and retain Chuffed's honest
version-unavailable banner only after successful nonempty help output.
Add process success, missing/nonexecutable, failed/empty, timeout and
inspection controls. These new controls await hosted execution.
Apply the exact three IPC rustfmt changes reported by job126889993047.
Route CVC5 and six T1 version queries through one private Tokio subprocess
boundary with a one-to-ten-second deadline, closed stdin and kill-on-drop.
Preserve each backend's existing status and output interpretation. Close
OpenSMT probe stdin while retaining its existing deadline and diagnostics.
Exercise all eight actual factory backends with a finite sleeping probe,
requiring their own deadline error and child termination before assertions.
Retain real-process raw-output, readable-parent-stdin and external
cancellation controls. No exact-source-text routing assertions.
No proof execution, public API, dependencies or workflow changes.
New Rust tests and formatting await hosted qualification; this candidate
has not been locally compiled or executed.
Restore the three literal $$ values changed by replacement-string expansion while applying formatter output. Production version-probe logic and all assertions remain unchanged.

Separate real and stub bridge modes, initialize Chapel once, and require the compiler-selected native dependencies. Add the binary default-address control and include workspace/build inputs in both container recipes.

Reject failed processes before accepting version output
When a required prover's --version command prints a nonempty diagnostic and exits unsuccessfully, this condition still lets the live gate pass: the migrated Z3, CVC5, Alt-Ergo, Vampire, EProver, GLPK, and MiniZinc version() implementations receive the subprocess status from version_probe::run but discard it and return Ok from the output text. A broken binary or wrapper that prints an error and exits 1 is therefore recorded as reachable; require a successful status in those backends (with explicit exceptions such as SPASS handled separately) before treating the text as identifying output.
…ed on #455) (#459)
## Summary
Stacked on #455, which rewrites the same lines of
`live-provers.yml` and carries the repair for main's current startup
failures. Merge #455 first; GitHub then retargets this PR to `main`.
The T1 provision step ran `apt-get update` before every backend,
including vampire, cvc5, alt-ergo and (with #455) chuffed, which install
from GitHub release assets and never touch apt. On #446 the runner
image's `packages.microsoft.com` source answered 403 twice, so `T1 /
vampire` failed before any test ran ([job
118637174820](https://github.com/hyperpolymath/echidna/actions/runs/39425579312/job/118637174820)).
The re-run passed, so it was the mirror and not the prover.
## Changes
- `live-provers.yml`, T1 provision step: `apt-get update` moves into an
`apt_install` helper. Only the apt-installed backends call it (z3,
eprover, spass, glpk, minizinc). The release-asset backends no longer
depend on the image's apt sources being reachable.
An earlier version of this branch also pinned the T1 Guix job to
`ubuntu-24.04`. I dropped that, because #455 makes the same fix with a
pinned guix version and a running daemon.

## Testing
Run locally on this tree:
- `actionlint` (with shellcheck) on `live-provers.yml`: clean.
- `scripts/ci/test-issue-regressions.sh` (with mikefarah yq v4): passed.
- `scripts/ci/check-allow-fail-expiry.sh`: 10 units, passed.
- In the provision step, `sudo apt-get` now appears only inside the
helper.
- No `uses:` changed, so `actions.lock` is unaffected.
This PR's own CI is the live test of the T1 matrix on the new step.

Purpose
Repair the failing CI and scanner paths, preserve the routing/proof audit, and make runtime and assurance claims match executed evidence. The original audit, Agda modules and quarantined Logtalk source remain in the repository, including the routing and rule-engine report and the source-bound proof-status ledger.

Remaining gates
