Add analysis to session segment pages, replies and change events - #527
This PR adds the session's analysis to segment pages, outlines, command replies and onAnalysisChanged. A { sessionId } address on the page queries returns the analysis fields; a source project id returns what it did before.
interlinearizer.getBookOutline(address, bookId, segmentationJson?) # session form adds orphanedCardCount
interlinearizer.getSegments(address, bookId, start, end, segmentationJson?) # session form adds analysis: PageAnalysis
interlinearizer.getTextReadStatus(address)
interlinearizer.undoEdit(sessionId, changeId?) / redoEdit(sessionId, changeId?) -> CommandReply
every edit command gains a trailing changeId? and replies with a CommandReply
interlinearizer.onAnalysisChanged # gains a session form: { sessionId, changeId } & AnalysisChange
src/services/sessionPages.ts # outlines, pages and pool buckets read from a session's draft
src/services/analysisChanges.ts # describeChange: segment ranges by book, analysis ids, queries
src/types/command-reply.ts # CommandReply
perf/pages/cli.ts # npm run perf:pages
Pages carry the analysis the WebView store holds for their range.PageAnalysis holds the token, phrase and segment links on the page's segments and the payloads they name. It also holds the pool bucket of each word token's normalized form, and the stale free translations placed among the segments. Placement reuses placeStaleFreeTranslations, the function the WebView places them with. Payloads are whole records, so glossSenseRef (Resolve lexicon-linked glosses for display #514) rides along.
Outlines count orphaned cards. Each session-form OutlineSegment gains orphanedCardCount, the free translations of lost verses that the view shows after it. The first segment also counts those ahead of every verse.
Pool buckets come from a new approval index.AnalysisIndex keeps the tokens approving each token payload, settling each token by the approval tie-break. AnalysisRepository.countApprovals reads it, so a bucket costs a lookup rather than a scan. checkIndexes compares it with one built afresh.
Replies. An edit, undo or redo replies with a CommandReply: its ChangeSet, plus the pool buckets and payloads of each form whose payloads or token links the change or its inverse reached. Unsaved-change discards reply with the same fields plus hasFreeTranslations. EditHistory.apply, undo and redo now return the inverse beside the changes, so a reply can read what a change removed.
Change ids. Every edit command, undo and redo takes an optional changeId, a fresh UUID when absent. A session keeps its latest replies by change id. A command sent again under a kept id gets the first reply and applies nothing; a reply that rejects is forgotten, so the command can be retried. This is the retry id deferred from Add apply with inverse capture and per-session undo #486.
onAnalysisChanged gains a session form.describeChange names each segment where the change put or removed links, at the outline index where the view shows it. Moved links name both places, and stale translations are named where they are placed. A book whose boundaries moved is named whole, as is one the host holds no tokenized copy of. The event also names the analyses whose payloads or links changed. It names getCatalogRows and getConcordance on a token change, and getStaleSummary when a stale link is reached. Re-anchor passes report too, under a fresh id. A Scripture edit also tells the source's open session, naming the book whole.
A session's address segments the text by its draft's boundaries. Sending boundaries with a session address throws. bookService.heldBook returns a book only if the host already holds its tokenized copy, and reads nothing.
Evidence
The #407 tiers are checked only by npm run perf:pages, run by hand. CI runs only the unit tests, which use a small fixture.
For every page and outline of every book, it compares links, payloads, pool buckets and placed free translations with what the WebView's store derives (selectPoolIndex, selectStaleFreeTranslations) from the whole analysis.
It runs random commands, undos and redos on one book in a session, and checks that each change's event matches the drafts before and after it, under the same placement and query rules as describeChange. describeChange reads only the change set and its inverse, so coverage goes by change-set shape. These commands put and delete token, phrase and segment payloads and links, stale free translation links, and a boundary split. analysisChanges.test.ts covers the rest: moved links, boundary moves, books without an outline, and tokens that the text no longer holds.
It times opening a session and reading its first and next session-form pages on a freshly opened draft (the Add derived indexes with a rebuild-and-diff command #487 note). A session now builds its derived indexes on open, from the draft it already read, rather than on the first page.
Every page and change matched the WebView store on both tiers, before and after that change. Timings on the reference machine (i7-12700KF, 32 GB, Windows 11, Node 25.8), second of two runs each. "Before" runs the previous commit's draftRepository, pt9ImportRepository and analysisSessions under the same timing code:

sessionPages (16 cases) covers page links, payloads, buckets, and placement of stale and orphaned translations, including orphans ahead of every verse arriving only with the first page.
analysisChanges (15 cases) covers moved links, phrase links across segments, books without an outline, boundary moves, tokens the text no longer holds, orphans, and each query.
AnalysisIndex (6 cases) and the conformance suite (4 cases) cover countApprovals and its tie-break, and checkIndexes covers the approval index.
AnalysisSessions (18 cases) covers replies, change ids (resent, retried after a rejection, evicted), re-anchor pass reports, and the session-dependent unsaved mark.
main (14 cases) covers each session-form query, boundary refusal, undo and redo replies, and the Scripture-edit event.
The full suite passes at 100% coverage; lint and tsc are clean.
Decisions with a strong alternative
SessionEditOptions.unsavedMark may be a function of the session, rather than the whole options.Add catalog edits, discards and removal previews #524's review made a discard read its options from the session in the edit's turn. Options given as a function can't carry the changeId, which must be known before the turn so a resent command finds its reply. Only the mark is read in the turn.
A book the host holds no tokenized copy of is named whole rather than tokenized to compute ranges. Reading a book to describe a change would make every edit wait on Scripture reads; a view refetches only the books it shows.
A session keeps its latest replies, not every one. A retry comes soon after its first send, so a short list answers it without growing for the session's life.
Re-anchor passes report under a fresh change id. No command sent them, so no view can be waiting on that id. This answers the Re-anchor every linked book in the host #507 notes: a pass that changes a book, or only its scope record, sends its ranges as a command does.
The pool bucket of a form is the WebView's buildPoolIndex over the payloads approved for it. Ranking is the suggestion engine's, not reimplemented.
Merge Danger
Door: two-way
The WebView doesn't use sessions yet. It now ignores the session form of onAnalysisChanged, and its Scripture-edit handling is unchanged.
Blast Radius: every edit command's signature (a trailing changeId) and reply shape (a CommandReply JSON instead of a bare ChangeSet). Also AnalysisSessions.edit, undo and redo, EditHistory.apply, undo and redo (return values), and AnalysisRepository (new countApprovals, which a later backend such as #462's must implement). StoredBookPass.changes becomes applied. #451 (3l) builds phrase spans on these pages, and 4a must call the session forms.
Session-based outline, segment, and text-read requests now use the session’s draft and analysis data.
Edit, undo, and redo responses include a change ID and details about affected analysis and pool data. Optional change IDs help prevent duplicate edits.
Analysis-change notifications identify affected books, ranges, and queries so relevant views can update.

Walkthrough
The PR adds session-addressed outline, segment-page, and text-read-status reads. Session edit replies include change IDs and touched pool data, while change events report affected books, analyses, and queries. A new performance CLI checks page data and change events against derived expectations.

Summary
Approval counts and pool lookup src/types/analysis-repository.ts, src/services/analysisIndex.ts, src/services/indexedRepository.ts, src/services/projectStorage.ts, src/__tests__/*, perf/indexes/cli.ts
The repository exposes approval counts. The analysis index tracks each token’s selected approved analysis and the tokens approving each analysis. Tests and the index scan check the counts and index differences.
Session page readers return linked analyses, pool buckets, and placed stale translations. Session outlines include orphaned-card counts. Session reads use draft segmentation; project-addressed reads retain their existing path.
History operations return applied changes and inverses. Session commands return change IDs and touched pool data, replay retained replies by ID, and report affected books, analyses, and queries.
Session command and event wiring src/main.ts, src/types/interlinearizer.d.ts, src/hooks/useInterlinearizerBookData.ts, src/__tests__/main.test.ts, src/__tests__/hooks/useInterlinearizerBookData.test.ts
Command handlers accept session addresses for reads and optional change IDs for edits. The host emits source-project and session analysis-change events. The book-data hook ignores session-addressed events.
Page and event consistency checks perf/pages/cli.ts, perf/README.md, package.json, AGENTS.md
The perf:pages command checks page contents and change events, times first and subsequent page reads, and exits with a nonzero status when checks fail.

This change adds session-addressed page reads, change IDs and change events. The only open issues are stale or awkward wording in the registered command descriptions, and the discard commands' description is the one that misstates their reply. Callers reading that description would expect an older reply shape. The change is mergeable once that description is updated.

Explanation
Directly linked issue #450 has coding requirements. Each one maps to code at the reviewed head or to the PR summary:
Session-form getSegments returns links, payloads, and pool buckets. src/services/sessionPages.ts readSegmentPage returns analysis.tokenAnalysisLinks, phraseAnalysisLinks, segmentAnalysisLinks, tokenAnalyses, phraseAnalyses, segmentAnalyses, and poolBuckets for the requested range. Pool buckets come from readPoolBuckets, which uses buildPoolIndex with AnalysisRepository.countApprovals.
Orphaned free translations land where the view places them. readSegmentPage uses placeStaleFreeTranslations through readStalePlacement. Translations ahead of every verse are returned only on the first page.
Session-form getBookOutline adds orphanedCardCount per segment. readBookOutline adds the orphaned-ahead count to the first segment and the orphaned-after count to each segment.
CommandReply carries the ChangeSet and the touched pool buckets and payloads. readTouchedPoolBuckets derives the touched buckets from the change and its inverse. The PR summary states that AnalysisSessions edit, undo, and redo return CommandReply.
onAnalysisChanged gains a session form with changeId, books with segment ranges, analysisIds, and queries. The PR summary and the interlinearizer.d.ts summary state the describeChange behavior, including whole-book naming when segmentation moved or no held copy exists.
getTextReadStatus accepts { sessionId } and resolves the session's source project, per the PR summary.
Pool buckets are read from the new approval index through countApprovals, as #450 requires.
Automated tests are named in the PR description and in the changed-file summaries: sessionPages, analysisChanges, analysisIndex, conformance, analysisSessions, and main. I did not run them, and I did not inspect the test files.
The done-when criteria cite the #407 datasets. The perf:pages results (0 differences; first-page timings) are author-reported. I did not re-run them. This verdict relies on the code and the reported verification.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changed areas connect to #450 requirements or to its supporting verification:
Session page and outline readers (src/services/sessionPages.ts), analysis change description (src/services/analysisChanges.ts), and the session-form handlers in src/main.ts implement the #450 requirements directly.
The AnalysisIndex approval index and AnalysisRepository.countApprovals (with IndexedRepository, projectStorage, and RecordTable.has) support pool buckets, as #450 requires.
EditHistory.apply, undo, and redo returning inverse changes, and StoredBookPass.applied, supply the inverse that readTouchedPoolBuckets and describeChange need.
bookService heldBook, getOpenBook, and getSegmentedBook serve session-form draft segmentation without reads.
The changeId on edit commands, and the CommandReply replay cache, supply the change id that onAnalysisChanged and CommandReply carry. The PR states that this closes the retry id deferred from #486. The 16-reply retention and retry rules go beyond the literal #450 text. They are tied to command replies and are not unrelated work.
The unsavedMark function form (SessionEditOptions) is a refactor that lets the change id be known before the edit turn.
Re-anchor pass reporting answers the event requirement that each command's event names what its ChangeSet touched.
perf/pages/cli.ts, the perf:pages script, perf/README.md, perf/indexes/cli.ts, and AGENTS.md are verification tooling and documentation for the stated requirements.
No change was found that is unrelated to #450 or to the stated dependency work. The changeId retry behavior is the broadest extension. Reviewers can decide whether it belongs in this PR.

Update the discardResult summary to the new reply shape.
runDiscard now returns JSON.stringify({ ...reply, hasFreeTranslations }) (Line 1741). That reply holds a CommandReply (changeId, changes, poolBuckets, poolAnalyses) plus hasFreeTranslations. The registered summary still describes { changes, hasFreeTranslations }. The discardBook and discardAll command metadata therefore misstates the result contract. The .d.ts docs already state the new shape.

The first session-form page waits on the draft load and index build, which takes seconds on larger drafts. The evidence reports the first-page timing only for small (71 ms). On the larger datasets, a fresh DraftRepository takes this long to reach its first getSegments:

Once Phase 4 wires the view to sessions, opening a large project waits on this before showing anything. Could the session build its indexes when it opens, or in the background right after, rather than on the first page request? Done. Opening a session now starts the index build in the session's queue, so the first page request waits only for whatever remains of it. The build also reuses the draft that exportAll already read during opening, so storage is no longer read a second time. perf:pages runs every tier unless you name some. It now times the open separately from the first page and the page after it, and the description lists all four tiers.

⛏️ #526 suggested two ways to get the books a change reaches: lift AnalysisIndex.reach into ApplyResult, or recompute it in the session layer. describeChange does neither; it works out the books from the records the change touched. Could you add a line under Decisions saying so? Then #462 knows it doesn't need to provide reach.
Drafted by Claude Opus 5.5; barely reviewed by me.

Added under Decisions. One correction: the two options are in #450's body, not in #526.
