fix(core): docusaurus serve adds a trailing slash to pages with a dot in their name (AI-assisted) - #12899
With a baseUrl and trailingSlash: true, pages with a dot in their name don't get the trailing slash redirect: /base/docs/2.x serves docs/2.x/index.html directly, where /base/both redirects to /base/both/. Our looksLikeAsset regex reads the dot as an extension.
When a URL looks like an asset, docusaurus serve now checks the build output: if it has a page for it (index.html in a folder, or an .html file), it gets the trailing slash redirect like any other page. Only URLs that look like assets cost these file system checks. The path is decoded first, and never resolves outside of the build output: encoded slashes like ..%2F can decode to .. segments.
Without a baseUrl, serve-handler still does the trailing slash redirects: the next PR fixes it there.
Test Plan
pnpm test packages/docusaurus/src/commands/serve: the trailingSlash: true rows of docs/2.x, docs/lodash.debounce and docs/1.x redirect, and the edge case test is flipped to "adds a trailing slash to pages with a dot in their name".
Two edge case tests cover the guards of the file system check, and each fails without its guard:
"never looks for pages outside of the build output": /base/..%2Foutside.x decodes outside of the build output, where the fixture __fixtures__/outside.x.html is a page. Without the guard, it gets the trailing slash redirect.
"looks for no page with a malformed percent-encoding": /base/%E0%A4%A.x can't be decoded. Without the guard, the server process crashes.
The serve handler now checks the build output for pages when resolving dotted paths. Dotted page paths receive trailing-slash redirects. Tests cover dotted paths, encoded traversal, and malformed percent-encoding.
The request handler uses an asynchronous redirect resolver that checks for page files in the build output. Dotted page paths receive trailing-slash redirects. Tests cover redirect behavior and expect 400 Bad Request for encoded traversal and malformed percent-encoding. The fixture adds outside.x.html.
meta/docusaurus#12892: Adds coverage for docs/lodash.debounce, a dotted page whose redirect behavior changes here.
meta/docusaurus#12858: Adds request-handler snapshot tests that record dotted-page behavior.
meta/docusaurus#12898: Records missing trailing-slash redirects for dotted pages and adds the docs/1.x.html fixture.
Merge Risk: Low · up to e84dd
Mergeable with awareness of a narrow edge case: valid page slugs beginning with two dots still miss their trailing-slash redirect. A localized containment-check correction addresses it.

Explanation
Docstring coverage is 50.00% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 2 functions across 2 files. Use a segment-aware containment check.
When a page slug begins with .., path.relative(outDir, filePath) returns ..foo.x. The current startsWith('..') check rejects this in-directory page, so docusaurus serve skips the trailing-slash redirect. Accept only .. or paths beginning with ..${path.sep} as traversal.
