fix(core): docusaurus serve does all the redirects, keeping the query string (AI-assisted) - #12900
Without a baseUrl, serve-handler does the docusaurus serve redirects, and they:
drop the query string: /file.html?query=1 redirects to /file
skip the trailing slash of pages with a dot in their name: /docs/2.x with trailingSlash: true
docusaurus serve now does all the redirects itself, for all baseUrls, like it already did with a baseUrl. It fixes both bugs, and the same request behaves the same with or without a baseUrl.
Status code: our redirects use 301, like the serve-handler ones they replace (see #12907).
The parsing now resolves the path against a fake parent folder: without a baseUrl, .. segments going above the root keep their serve-handler 400, and a raw //example.com/file stays a path instead of being parsed as another host.
Other changes visible in the snapshots, without a baseUrl:
//file redirects to /file with trailingSlash: undefined, like /base//file
/%E0%A4%A gets the trailing slash redirect before the 400 with trailingSlash: true, like /base/%E0%A4%A: the caching test now requests /%E0%A4%A/ to keep showing a 400
//example.com/index takes one more redirect, like /base//example.com/index
Test Plan
pnpm test packages/docusaurus/src/commands/serve: the baseUrl / rows keep the query string, and the 2 edge case tests are flipped.
The serve request handler now applies redirect normalization at root and non-root base URLs. It parses paths against a synthetic root, handles repeated slashes and clean URLs, applies trailing-slash rules, and retains query strings. Updated tests cover redirects across base URL and trailing-slash settings.

Summary
Parse and normalize redirect paths packages/docusaurus/src/commands/serve/requestHandler.ts
The handler normalizes paths for root and non-root base URLs. A synthetic-root parser rejects paths that escape the root and keeps double-slash paths as paths. Redirects retain query strings.
Tests now expect 302 redirects for canonicalization and trailing-slash cases. They cover double-slash paths, query retention, malformed percent-encoding, and dotted page paths.
meta/docusaurus#12891: Adds repeated-slash normalization for non-root base URLs, which this change extends to root base URLs.
meta/docusaurus#12883: Guards against redirects from .. paths outside baseUrl; this change updates path parsing for those cases.
meta/docusaurus#12901: Builds on this change’s trailing-slash handling and adjusts how serve-handler handles trailingSlash.
