fix(core): prevent docusaurus serve open redirects from .. segments (AI-assisted) - #12883
#12879 parses the request URL with parseURLPath(), which resolves .. segments. A hand-typed request can use them to resolve outside of the baseUrl, even to another host: /base/..//example.com/index resolves to //example.com/index, and the clean URL redirect sends Location: //example.com, as CodeRabbit found. Browsers resolve .. before sending a request, so only hand-typed requests are affected.
Paths that resolve outside of the baseUrl now skip our redirects: serve-handler answers 400 Bad Request, like it does for paths outside of the build folder without a baseUrl. main also answered 400 to /base/../file.html before 12879.
12879 is merged, so main has this open redirect: merge this PR soon, since main publishes canary releases.
Test Plan
pnpm test packages/docusaurus/src/commands/serve: the .. rows of the hand-typed URL snapshots now get a 400, instead of redirecting outside of the baseUrl.
New "stays on this host" edge case tests send the same open redirect attempts with and without a baseUrl. Without a baseUrl, serve-handler handles them: it answers 400 to paths outside of the build folder, and merges slashes in its redirects. The new check can't help there, since every path starts with /, so these tests catch a regression from a serve-handler upgrade, or if we ever do these redirects ourselves.
Requests that resolve outside a configured base URL no longer receive redirects to the base root, an external host, or a trailing-slash URL; malformed traversal requests are rejected.
Host-like paths stay on the current host and receive a local redirect or error response, depending on the path and trailing-slash setting.
Clean-path and trailing-slash redirects continue to apply to requests within the configured base URL.
The request handler now skips redirect processing when a parsed pathname falls outside a configured non-root base URL. Tests cover traversal and double-slash paths, with and without a base URL, across trailing-slash settings and platforms.

Base URL guard and redirect tests packages/docusaurus/src/commands/serve/requestHandler.ts, packages/docusaurus/src/commands/serve/__tests__/requestHandler.test.ts, packages/docusaurus/src/commands/serve/__tests__/testUtils.ts
For a non-root baseUrl, the handler returns no redirect location when the parsed pathname does not start with baseUrl. Tests expect 400 Bad Request for traversal paths and cover redirect and 404 results for other paths. serveRequest now uses the default request options.
meta/docusaurus#12881: Adds raw requests for hand-typed traversal paths and open-redirect attempts covered by the updated tests.
meta/docusaurus#12879: Adds parsed-path clean-URL redirects, which the new base URL check precedes.

the base URL without its trailing slash continues to getCleanPathname instead of
returning baseUrl early. Preserve the existing redirect for paths outside the
base URL and retain the query string.
- Around line 70-71: Update the `pathname` and `baseUrl` handling so dot
segments are resolved consistently before deciding whether the request is within
the base URL, and use the compatible base URL form for any redirect. Preserve
the existing protection against redirecting requests outside the base URL.

parseURLPath() resolves "..", so a hand-typed /base/..//example.com/index
resolved to //example.com/index, and the clean URL redirect sent the browser
to another host. Paths resolving outside of the baseUrl now redirect to it.

Without a baseUrl, serve-handler handles these requests: it rejects paths
outside of the build folder and merges slashes in its redirects. Cover it, in
case a serve-handler upgrade or our own redirects change this.

Paths whose ".." segments resolve outside of the baseUrl now get the
serve-handler 400 Bad Request, like paths outside of the build folder without
a baseUrl, instead of a redirect to the baseUrl. The open redirect tests use
the same paths with and without a baseUrl.
