Closes #9429

Written by a bee on queen-9429 and published by tools/queen/publish.py. The branch itself is the bee's; the second commit is the coordination entry every pull request must add, which a bee has no way to know about.

Trinity Bee and others added 2 commits October 13, 2026 21:28
Create specs/port/trinity/hardware/rtl-root/d_direct.t27 with module trinity_top
that implements the same functionality as the original Verilog module.

The module connects clk input directly to led output, matching the original
assign led = clk; behavior.

Includes comprehensive tests covering high/low clock values and edge transitions.

Closes #9429
A pull request must add exactly one docs/now entry and a bee has no way
to know that: its brief names a boundary file and acceptance criteria,
and docs/now/ is neither. The publisher adds it rather than failing the
gate.

Summary

Status Count
Total Open PRs 50
PRs with Failing Checks 46
PRs with All Checks Green 4
READY 1
FAILING 46
PENDING 0
NO CHECKS YET 1

These columns do not partition: 1 + 46 + 0 + 1 = 48, and there are 50 open PRs. A PR is being counted twice or not at all.

Seal Status

  • ⚠️ STALE -- sha256(compiler.rs)=e769ef021713 != manifest seal=87e5cbd3ad94.
The committed NMSE numbers were certified against an older compiler.rs.
Run scripts/reseal-check.sh locally for the two-step reseal command (advisory; not a merge gate).

Reviewer bee verdict for head d9e266db0687a680d1424bd160d2be9b878a699b (tools/bees/reviewer.py, zai glm-4.7-flash, 4 turns, 79 s; then glm-4.5-flash, 4 turns, 66 s).

BEE-VERDICT: APPROVE
summary: Ported the d_direct.v Verilog passthrough module to d_direct.t27 with correct structure, module name, generated Verilog, parsing, tests, and compilable output
criterion: "test -f specs/port/trinity/hardware/rtl-root/d_direct.t27 && echo present" -- met -- evidence: file:spec exists
criterion: "grep -cE '^\s*(pub )?module trinity_top\b' specs/port/trinity/hardware/rtl-root/d_direct.t27" -- met -- evidence: file:spec
criterion: "t27c gen-verilog specs/port/trinity/hardware/rtl-root/d_direct.t27 | grep -cE '^module trinity_top ?('" -- met -- evidence: runner output
criterion: "t27c spec-status specs/port/trinity/hardware/rtl-root/d_direct.t27 does not print NOPARSE" -- met -- evidence: runner output
criterion: "grep -cE '^[[:space:]]*test[[:space:]]+("|[A-Za-z_])' specs/port/trinity/hardware/rtl-root/d_direct.t27" -- met -- evidence: runner output
criterion: "t27c test-report specs/port/trinity/hardware/rtl-root/d_direct.t27 2>&1 | grep -c BLOCKED" -- met -- evidence: runner output
discounted-check: cli-tri -- check not run on the last 6 commits of master; the failure shows pre-existing Rust warnings in cli/tri/src/ unrelated to the d_direct.t27 file
discounted-check: duplicate-bodies -- failure exists on master for unrelated functions; the brief shows master 290d7d0 had the same failure, not introduced by this head
discounted-check: t27b-native-ratchet -- the failure is caused by new run.json/corpus.txt/ratchet.json files from the ratchet process itself, not a real defect in the code; this is a tracking artifact, not a code problem

Evidence

Analysis

Issue #9429 Goal: Port gHashTag/trinity:hardware/rtl-root/d_direct.v (7 lines of simple passthrough from clk to led) to specs/port/trinity/hardware/rtl-root/d_direct.t27, only this file, with tests that verify correctness.

Acceptance Criteria

All 6 acceptance criteria from the issue PASSED (runner verified):

  1. ✓ File exists: test -f specs/port/trinity/hardware/rtl-root/d_direct.t27 && echo present → present
  2. ✓ Module name correct: grep -cE '^\s*(pub )?module trinity_top\b' → 1
  3. ✓ Generated Verilog correct: t27c gen-verilog ... | grep -cE '^module trinity_top ?\(' → 1
  4. ✓ Parses: t27c spec-status → IMPLEMENTED (not NOPARSE)
  5. ✓ Has tests: grep -cE '^[[:space:]]*test[[:space:]]+("|[A-Za-z_])' → 3
  6. ✓ Compiles and tests run: t27c test-report ... | grep -c BLOCKED → 0

The new file implements trinity_top with ModuleInputs{clk} and ModuleOutputs{led}, where led = inputs.clk—exactly what the original Verilog does.

No edits outside boundary

The diff adds:

  • docs/now/2026-10-13-published-port-ghashtag-trinity-hardware-rtl-root-d-direct-v-verilog-1.md (11 lines, generated by publisher tool)
  • specs/port/trinity/hardware/rtl-root/d_direct.t27 (60 lines, the one file in the boundary)

No edits outside the named files. No scratch files, no edits to the original, no non-ASCII identifiers.

Red checks

duplicate-bodies — Discounted: failure is pre-existing on master. The log shows errors about bodies in bit_at, build_level, build_report_frame copied multiple times in other specs, unrelated to d_direct.t27. The failure exists on master for the same reason.

cli-tri — Discounted: not run on the last 6 commits of master. The log shows Rust warnings about unused struct members and functions in cli/tri/src/, unrelated to the new .t27 file.

t27b-native-ratchet — Discounted: the failure is due to the new run.json/corpus.txt/ratchet.json files created by the ratchet process itself, not a defect in the code. This is a tracking file change, not a real defect introduced by this PR.

No blocking check—the change does what the issue asks and does not damage anything else.

Second, independent review (glm-4.5-flash): APPROVE -- Successfully ported trinity_top Verilog module to T27 specification with all tests passing
