Rewrote the docs and 'CONTRIBUTING.md' in the documentation house style and updated Vale to match. - #3247
Every page under .vortex/docs/content and the root CONTRIBUTING.md now follows 1 house style: a sentence carries 1 idea, procedures are numbered steps with their code nested under each step, every heading is a command (Skip deployments) or a noun phrase, and every claim was checked against the script, config or workflow it describes. The Vale house rules in .vortex/docs/.vale/Vortex/ enforce the mechanical half of that style: SerialComma replaces OxfordComma, and Numbers and the new NumberOne ask for digits. SentenceLength keeps its 30-word limit.
The pages had drifted into several voices, with long multi-clause sentences, gerund headings (Ignoring, Running custom scripts), FAQ questions phrased as "How to login to a Drupal site?" and procedures buried in paragraphs. A handful of statements were also untrue against the source: ENVIRONMENT_TYPE said any non-empty value overrides the detected type although settings.php uses !empty(), so 0 is ignored; the modules overview said provisioning installs every module although seckit and Fast 404 are never installed; and docker-compose.yml linked to /docs/docker, a page that doesn't exist.
After merge, ahoy lint-docs reports 0 Vale errors and 0 warnings across all 82 pages, and every renamed heading's anchor is updated wherever it was linked, including .vortex/tooling/README.md and docker-compose.yml. Page structure, URLs, code blocks, frontmatter and the generated table in development/variables.mdx are unchanged. Scripts, workflows and other template files are untouched apart from the 2 comment links in docker-compose.yml and the matching installer fixture.

Changes
Vale house style
.vale/Vortex/SerialComma.yml replaces OxfordComma.yml. It flags A, B, and C and skips clause joins: a closed list followed by a clause (A, B and C, and keeps), intro phrases (, during X, and), a verb between the commas (X is Y, and Z) and a pronoun after the conjunction (, and it fails).
.vale/Vortex/NumberOne.yml warns on one only when a counted word follows (one stage), so pronoun uses (the latest one, one at a time) pass. Numbers.yml adds zero.
Headings.yml drops the upstream Visual exception, which forced Visual to be capitalized in headings such as Turn off visual regression.
.vale.ini skips MDX import statements and JSX <li> items, which Vale otherwise merged into 1 long sentence.
tests/fixtures/vale/*.mdx and tests/unit/vale-rules.test.js cover each rule and each skipped misfire.
.vortex/docs/CLAUDE.md and contributing/maintenance/documentation.mdx describe the style the rules enforce.
Documentation pages
All 81 .mdx pages under .vortex/docs/content, rewritten section by section: 1 idea per sentence within the 30-word limit, steps numbered with their code nested, condition before instruction, no serial comma, digits for numbers and bold Vortex in prose. A sentence that was already 30 words or fewer and carried 1 idea stays 1 sentence.
Each page was checked against the code it documents. The fixes include the ENVIRONMENT_TYPE0 case in settings.mdx, the never-installed modules in modules/README.mdx, the full list of analyzed paths in phpstan.mdx, the exact sdc-devel output match and the config.platform.php step in phpcs.mdx.
installation.mdx points the existing-project path at the new-project steps it repeated word for word, so the page is about 200 lines shorter.
Every page was read by a fresh reader agent with only the page in front of it, then re-read after fixes. The sentences readers misread were reworded. The only wrong answer, on phpcs.mdx, led to the config.platform.php step, and that page passed a third read.
A few facts the pages left out are now stated: webhook.mdx says the deployment log prints the full webhook header value, deployment/README.mdx says Lagoon production keeps its database because .lagoon.yml sets VORTEX_PROVISION_OVERRIDE_DB=0, composer.mdx regenerates patches.lock.json when patches change during an update, the CircleCI steps in installation.mdx cover a project with no SSH keys by removing its add_ssh_keys steps, and behat.mdx limits the closed SSMTP_MAILHUB port to mail sent through sSMTP.
Menu paths use **Settings > Secrets and variables > Actions** throughout.
Headings and links
107 gerund and How to headings became commands or questions, such as Ignoring to Ignore violations and Running custom scripts to Run custom scripts. Noun headings stay (Provisioning flow, Onboarding).
Every link to a renamed anchor is updated across the docs and in .vortex/tooling/README.md.
Template
docker-compose.yml links its 2 Docker comments to /docs/development/environment/docker and #volumes-definitions.
.vortex/installer/tests/Fixtures/handler_process/_baseline/docker-compose.yml is regenerated with ahoy update-snapshots.
Contributing
CONTRIBUTING.md links the roadmap to the published Roadmap page, replacing a link to a develop branch that doesn't exist, and names the #vortex-project-template Slack channel used elsewhere in the docs.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
Issue #3251 covers only two dead Docker documentation links in root docker-compose.yml, plus the installer fixture regeneration. The PR changes far more than that. Per the PR description and change summary, it: rewrites all 81 .mdx pages under .vortex/docs/content and rewrites CONTRIBUTING.md; rewrites or renames about 107 headings; changes Vale rules (.vale/Vortex/SerialComma.yml, NumberOne.yml, Numbers.yml, Headings.yml, .vale.ini, and removal of OxfordComma.yml); changes Vale test fixtures and tests/unit/vale-rules.test.js; rewrites .vortex/docs/CLAUDE.md and the contributing maintenance guides; changes the CONTRIBUTING.md Slack channel and roadmap links; and changes the .vortex/tooling/README.md anchor. None of these changes is requested by #3251. The PR description lists the related issues #3250 and #3252 as outside this PR, which confirms that the author treats this PR as a bundled change. The two docker-compose.yml links and the matching fixture belong to #3251. The tooling README anchor change depends on a heading rename from the documentation rewrite, so it is also unrelated to #3251.
Resolution
Split the PR. Keep only the root docker-compose.yml comment changes, the matching installer fixture regeneration and, if still needed, the Docker link updates that those changes require. Move the documentation rewrite, Vale rule and fixture changes, CONTRIBUTING.md edits, the .vortex/docs/CLAUDE.md edits, and the heading renames with their link updates into one or more separate PRs with their own linked issues. Revert the .vortex/tooling/README.md anchor change from this PR unless it is needed by the retained changes.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
[#3251] Two coding requirements apply. Both comments in root docker-compose.yml are verified at the reviewed head. Line 15 now links to https://www.vortextemplate.com/docs/development/environment/docker, which matches the page path in the issue. Line 91 now links to https://www.vortextemplate.com/docs/development/environment/docker#volumes-definitions. The head copy of .vortex/docs/content/development/environment/docker.mdx contains the heading '### Volumes definitions', so the anchor resolves. The second requirement, running ahoy update-snapshots so the installer fixture .vortex/installer/tests/Fixtures/handler_process/_baseline/docker-compose.yml matches the change, could not be verified. The repository inspection for that fixture returned that changed blobs are missing from the checkout. The PR description says the fixture was regenerated, but this claim is not checked against source. The bulk of the PR (documentation rewrites, Vale rules, headings) has no bearing on this requirement; see the out-of-scope assessment.
Resolution
Provide a readable diff or blob of .vortex/installer/tests/Fixtures/handler_process/_baseline/docker-compose.yml at the reviewed head, or confirm that its two Docker comment lines match root docker-compose.yml. With that evidence, the requirement can be assessed. No change to the docker-compose.yml link fixes is needed.

Make the Lagoon database key step depend on the database source.
Step 3 under GitHub Actions begins with "On Lagoon," which reads as a hosting condition. Step 5 requires the key for the Lagoon environment database source whenever Hosting provider is Other or None. A project with that combination can follow step 3 literally and skip the VORTEX_FETCH_DB_SSH_PRIVATE_KEY secret. The workflow then does not load the key, so the Lagoon database fetch cannot authenticate.
