Summary

Production CI passes all PHP tests but fails its exact-100% coverage gate at 99.4% after pings were added (failing run). Add behavior tests for the new web/API ping endpoints and push delivery to restore 100% coverage.

Changes

  • Cover direct and org pings, response fields, stored history, read markers, and unstashing.
  • Cover authentication, blocks, disabled Remotes, request states, org membership and roles, and the shared three-pings-per-minute limit across web and API.
  • Check subscribed push recipients, delayed delivery after commit, missing push keys, and empty ping push payloads.

This changes tests only. Application behavior, CI configuration, and coverage thresholds stay the same.

Validation

All commands passed locally on PHP 8.5 with an isolated PostgreSQL container:

  • XDEBUG_MODE=coverage php -d memory_limit=-1 vendor/bin/pest --parallel --ci --coverage --exactly=100.0 --passthru-php="'-d' 'memory_limit=-1'": 4,407 tests, 24,533 assertions, exactly 100% coverage.
  • Focused ping endpoint and push job tests: 71 tests, 253 assertions. Clover results confirm all nine previously uncovered ping classes have 100% statement and method coverage.
  • composer test:lint: passed, with existing floating-promise warnings in unchanged JavaScript test files.
  • composer test:type-coverage: 100%.
  • composer test:types: PHPStan and both TypeScript projects passed.
  • bun run test:unit: 170 Node tests and 535 component tests passed.
  • bun run build and git diff --check: passed.

Visual and on-device checks are inapplicable: no UI or mobile interaction changed.

Independent review

PASS, with no blocking findings, from a separate read-only Sol 6.1 reviewer using high reasoning and fast service.

  • Base: e9aac0fb166389d894aa7b63518e3875b2a6c29d
  • Head: b95b81b4e5f5efb21339d3ade8cf590cc6d4dc13

The reviewer inspected the complete diff, related runtime code, and supplied validation logs, and independently confirmed the clean worktree and diff checks. Suites were not rerun by the reviewer.

Limitations

Hosted CI has not yet completed for this PR. Push services are faked in tests; live browser push delivery was not exercised.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Tests
    • Expanded coverage for conversation and organization pings, including successful requests, participant updates, access restrictions, and authentication.
    • Added checks for shared ping limits, push delivery to eligible subscribers, missing push configuration, and empty-body notifications.
    • Verified that rejected requests do not create messages.

Avoid asserting an exact Retry-After value.

The ping routes use Laravel’s throttle:pings middleware. Laravel derives Retry-After from the remaining limiter time. The fourth request can therefore return a value below 60 after elapsed time. Freeze the clock or assert a valid remaining-time range.
