feat(core): add changeEmail and verifyEmailChange APIs - #295
This pull request adds a stateful email-change flow for authenticated users. Users provide their current password and new email address to request a change, then verify the change with a token. The flow updates the email only after verification and can send the verification link through a configured callback.
Key Changes
Add the changeEmail and verifyEmailChange APIs and register the POST /email/change and GET /email/change/verify actions.
Validate the current password and new email, create a hashed verification token, and send the token and verification URL to the configured callback. The token expires after 30 minutes by default.
On successful verification, update the user's email and verification timestamp, revoke the token, and revoke other sessions while retaining the current session.
Add emailChange configuration and rate limits for both APIs. Stateless session strategies reject both operations as unsupported.
Usage
Configure emailChange.sendEmailChangeVerification to deliver the token and URL. Then call the APIs with the authenticated user's headers:
The change adds APIs and HTTP actions to initiate and verify email changes. Stateful sessions create and validate email-change tokens, update the email, and revoke other sessions. Configuration adds token expiry, a verification callback, and rate limits. Stateless sessions expose both operations as unsupported.
Adds API and session types, email-change configuration, request and response schemas, validation session IDs, rate limits, and error entries. Validates configured token expiry as a positive integer.
Adds stateful token creation and verification. Valid tokens update the email and verification time, then revoke the token and other sessions. Stateless mode exposes both operations as unsupported.

Adds programmatic APIs and HTTP actions for email change and verification. Registers the routes and adds log messages for change, verification, and cancellation events.

Merge Risk: Moderate · up to 3c5be
The email-change flow may fail from the real emailed link because of the CSRF header check. It can also allow case-variant duplicate emails and leave older pending change links usable. Fix these, and confirm session-token logging and the callback documentation are corrected, before merging.

A rabbit checks the old email with care, Then sends a token through the air. A verified address takes its place, And old sessions leave without a trace. The burrow’s routes now guide the change, While config keeps expiry in range.

Allow the email verification link to bypass the double-submit header check.
A browser navigation sends the CSRF cookie but does not send X-CSRF-Token. This action leaves skipCSRFCheck at its default false, so verifyEmailChange can reject the link with CSRF_DOUBLE_SUBMIT_FAILED.
Pass skipCSRFCheck: true. This preserves CSRF-cookie validation while skipping the unavailable header check.
