A STEP during the REACT cue could lose its tracked threat before contact while the enemy reacquired a new direction after the dodge. Commit telegraphed attacks to their visible lane, retain observation through the active window, and award reversals only for a physical lateral miss from a previously threatened position.

This also differentiates straight and sweeping attack lanes, bakes paired head/body/leg/guard responses, stabilizes close/far touch selection and buffered direction, and gives existing rival personas readable attack/reset habits. Existing tactical adaptation retains priority.

159/159 rule and motion tests pass locally, including fixed-step reactive-step controls and both real target skeletons. Actual WebGL capture is pending via the extended existing kick audit. See docs/COMBAT_FEEL.md.
