<Update label="Aug 27, 2026" description="X API v2">
### Bot accounts for the Chat API

We launched six new `/2/bots` endpoints for creating and managing [bot accounts](/xchat/bots): create, list, update, and delete bots, plus rotate and revoke bot tokens. A bot is a programmatic X account owned by your project. It authenticates with its own bearer token and carries an "Automated by" label. See the [API reference](/x-api/bots/create-a-bot).

### Filter qualifiers for X Activity API subscriptions

[X Activity API](/x-api/activity/introduction) subscriptions now accept an optional `filter.qualifiers` map to narrow which events match. Use `conversation_type` (`direct` or `group`) on `chat.received`, and `direction` (`inbound` or `outbound`) on `follow.follow`, `follow.unfollow`, and `like.create`. Each subscription supports up to 8 qualifiers. Learn more in the [Filter qualifiers](/x-api/activity/introduction#filter-qualifiers) section.

### Broadcast events for the X Activity API

We added `broadcast.start` and `broadcast.end` events to the [X Activity API](/x-api/activity/introduction). Subscribe by User ID to be notified in real time when a user starts or ends a live broadcast. Both are public events, so you can subscribe with either app-only or user-context authentication.

### Pay-per-use credit balance endpoint

The new [`GET /2/usage/credits`](/x-api/usage/get-usage-credits) endpoint returns your Pay-per-use (PPU) credit balance in USD, so you can monitor remaining credits programmatically.

### Delete chat messages

The Chat API now supports deleting chat messages via [`POST /2/chat/conversations/{id}/messages/delete`](/x-api/chat/delete-chat-messages).

### `is_subscriber` field on `broadcast.chat` events

The `broadcast.chat` event payload now includes an `is_subscriber` boolean alongside the message author's profile. See [event payloads](/x-api/activity/event-payloads) for a sample.

### Fix: Trends by WOEID response fields

`GET /2/trends/by/woeid/{woeid}` returns `trend_name` only. We removed `tweet_count` from the `trend.fields` options and the documented response to match actual API behavior. `GET /2/users/personalized_trends` still returns `tweet_count`.
