Summary

  • publish and validate bible-cli through the new vmrocha/homebrew-tap repository
  • update stable releases to bump the tap formula with an immutable tag URL and SHA-256
  • document Homebrew install, upgrade, release, and credential setup workflows

The tap is live at https://github.com/vmrocha/homebrew-tap and currently packages v0.1.0. Stable release automation uses a pinned action; prereleases do not update the formula. If HOMEBREW_TAP_TOKEN is not configured, the release remains successful and emits a warning.

Validation

  • make check
  • corepack pnpm --dir website docs:build
  • release workflow parses as YAML
  • brew style and brew audit --strict --new vmrocha/tap/bible-cli
  • brew install --build-from-source vmrocha/tap/bible-cli
  • brew test vmrocha/tap/bible-cli
  • Homebrew-installed bible version and offline bible read "John 3:16" --plain
  • I updated user-facing documentation.
  • This does not change bundled Bible text, provenance, licensing, attribution, or checksums.
  • I did not include secrets, personal data, or sensitive logs.

Follow-up before the next stable release

Configure HOMEBREW_TAP_TOKEN as a fine-grained token limited to vmrocha/homebrew-tap with Contents read/write access, as documented in docs/RELEASING.md.
