Contributors had no written rule that a change to the Action needs coverage, and no pointer to where that coverage lives. The contributing guide now gets the same Tests section as tox-uv and pyproject-api: every feature and bug fix comes with a test, or the pull request explains why not. 📝
The Action has no unit tests; its tests are the CI self-test jobs, each running the Action in a different setup. The section names those setups, says a new input or code path gets a job or step of its own, and lists the events that run them. The opening paragraph now points contributors at
prek run --all-filesbefore they push, and the setup list moves from it into the new section.
