ACLs, known for the ability to filter traffic as it either comes or leaves an interface,can also be used for other purposes, including restricting remote access(virtual type terminal,or VTY) to an IOS device, filtering routing information, prioritizing traffic with queuing, triggering phone calls with dial on-demand routing(DDR), among many others.
