track: kernel replaces kernel-stable and kernel-mainline: the series in the pin is the decision, and the track takes that series' newest release. Another series is named by a person (versions bump kernel 7.4.1).

  • The series' first tarball counts (7.4 while mainline alone lists it); an -rc does not.
  • A series kernel.org no longer lists is a note in check, and a bump without a version leaves the pin, so a refresh goes on with its other entries.

Both users, ami and spin-machine, move to it in their own PRs next.

A kernel is pinned in a series and stays there: kernel-stable and kernel-mainline were two policies
for what one line says. Its first tarball counts until a stable release follows it, which is the
window where kernel-stable said the series was over and stopped ami's refresh. A series kernel.org
no longer lists is said by check, and a bump leaves the pin, so a refresh goes on with the rest.
