Built by a father who wanted to help his daughter prepare for art college.
My daughter is preparing for art college admission and is currently studying for another attempt.
As a parent, I saw how much time, effort, and money students and their families invest in art education.
Regular academy classes are important, but additional intensive classes and special training sessions can also become a significant financial burden.
One day, I started asking myself:
"Is there something I can build that helps her practice even when her teacher isn't beside her?"
That question became the beginning of DrawCheck.
I am not trying to replace art teachers or art academies.
Instead, I want DrawCheck to become an AI practice partner that helps students review their work, identify weaknesses, track progress, and make better use of the hours they practice alone.
What started as a project for one art student — my daughter — may eventually help many other students facing the same challenges.
DrawCheck is being developed to help art students analyze and improve their artwork.
Upload or photograph your artwork.
AI analyzes the submitted artwork from multiple perspectives.
The system can provide feedback on areas such as:
- Composition
- Form & Proportion
- Light & Shadow
- Color
- Spatial Expression
- Overall Completeness
Instead of evaluating only one artwork, DrawCheck aims to track multiple works over time and show how the student is improving.
Future versions aim to identify recurring weaknesses and recommend what the student should focus on next.
We don't want to build:
AI that replaces art teachers.
We want to build:
AI that helps students during the hours when their teacher is not beside them.
We believe AI can support art education by helping students practice more effectively between lessons.
DrawCheck is currently under development.
Feedback from:
- 🎨 Art students
- 👩🎨 Art teachers
- 🏫 Art academies
- 👨👩👧 Parents
- 💻 AI / Computer Vision developers
- 🎓 Education researchers
is very welcome.
DrawCheck is still an early project.
We are especially interested in help with:
How should AI evaluate student artwork?
How can artwork analysis become more accurate and explainable?
How should improvement across multiple artworks be measured?
What information would actually be useful to art teachers?
How do art college admissions and portfolio evaluations differ across countries?
If you have an idea, suggestion, or criticism, please use GitHub Issues.
Developers, teachers, students, parents, and researchers are all welcome.
Even a small suggestion may help us build a better tool for students.
DrawCheck didn't begin as a startup idea.
It began with a simple thought:
"I want to do something that can help my daughter."
Now I hope that something built for one student can eventually help many others.
Practice. Analyze. Improve. Grow.
