wspp - WhatsApp CLI 📱💻

A lightweight, blazing-fast WhatsApp command-line interface (CLI) built with Go. wspp allows you to link your WhatsApp account via QR code and chat directly from your terminal without opening a browser.

⚠️ WORK IN PROGRESS (WIP) This project is currently under construction. While the core functionality (logging in, listing contacts, and basic chatting) works, it is still in its early stages. Several features are missing, and you might encounter bugs.

✨ Current Features

  • Persistent Sessions: Log in once via QR code. Your session is saved locally using a pure Go SQLite database.
  • Cross-Platform: Works seamlessly on Linux, Windows, and macOS.
  • List Contacts: Fetch and display your WhatsApp contacts and their IDs.
  • Quick Messages: Send a single message to a specific contact and exit immediately.
  • Interactive Live Chat: Enter a dedicated chat mode to send and receive new messages in real-time.

🛠️ Missing Features (Coming Soon)

Since this is a work in progress, the following features are not yet implemented:

  • Loading past chat history (currently only shows new incoming messages in live mode).
  • Sending and receiving media (images, videos, documents, audio).
  • Group chat management.
  • Message status receipts (read/delivered ticks).
  • Handling quoted/replied messages.

🚀 Installation

Ensure you have Go installed on your system.

  1. Clone the repository:
   git clone https://github.com/yourusername/wspp.git
   cd wspp
  1. Download dependencies:
   go mod tidy
  1. Build the executable:

    For Linux/macOS:

   go build -o wspp main.go
   sudo mv wspp /usr/local/bin/

For Windows:

   go build -o wspp.exe main.go

Move wspp.exe to a folder included in your system's PATH variable to use it globally.

📖 Usage

  1. Initial Setup & Sync

The first time you run wspp, you must sync your account. Run the following command and scan the QR code that appears in the terminal with your WhatsApp app:

   wspp -sync

Wait for the 30-second timer to finish downloading your initial contacts data.

  1. List Contacts

To see a list of your synchronized contacts and their IDs:

   wspp -lc
  1. Send a Quick Message

To send a single message and close the program immediately:

wspp -i 573001234567 -m "Hello from the terminal!"

Note: Replace 573001234567 with the actual contact ID/phone number including the country code, without the + sign.

  1. Interactive Live Chat

To open a live, real-time chat with a specific contact:

   wspp -i 573001234567

Type your messages and hit Enter to send. Any new messages they send you will appear automatically. Type /salir to exit the chat.
