eslint 10 could not be installed at all: eslint-plugin-import's latest release (2.32.0) peer-caps at eslint 9, so `npm ci` failed with ERESOLVE. The plugin was registered but the config enabled none of its rules - `eslint --print-config` reported a single `import/*` entry, already off - so dropping it is behavior-neutral. @eslint/compat existed only to shim that plugin into flat config and goes with it. eslint 10 also stops bundling @eslint/eslintrc, which the config used for FlatCompat and which transitively supplied @eslint/js and globals. The eslintrc-style extends are replaced with the plugins' own flat configs, and @eslint/js and globals are now direct devDependencies. Verified with `eslint --print-config`: no previously active rule was lost. eslint 10's recommended set newly enables no-unassigned-vars, no-useless-assignment and preserve-caught-error, all of which pass. Also drop the eslintConfig key, which pointed at a nonexistent .eslintrc.yml and has no meaning in eslint 10. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
