Ignore hosted.weblate.org in linkcheck, which now returns 403 to automated requests.
This should reduce the number of linkcheck notices about permanent redirects that show up. A few were a bit more complex than renames (see below for details). Some things probably need reworking too (like dual links to the same anaconda page), but that's something for later.
🤖 AI summary of an intermediate state 🤖:
I ran the linkcheck and updated 36 permanent-redirect (301) links in 16
.rstfiles, on the new branchlinkcheck-redirects. A second linkcheck run confirms that all the updated links now resolve directly.prek -apasses. I did not commit.Changes to check before you commit:
anaconda.com/docs/getting-started/concepts/anaconda-or-miniconda), so both links in the text now go there.docs.cloud.google.com/bigquery/docs/sandbox, which is a different page from the original web-UI quickstart.#creating-an-environmentanchor, because the new page still has it.docs.pypi.org/project-management/storage-limits/#project-size-limits.#user-content-pexanchor.getsafety.com/cli/, without the tracking parameters that the redirect adds.Links I did not change:
pypi.org/help/#apitokennow redirects to thedocs.pypi.orghome page, and that site has no API token page. Updating it would lose the anchor.labs.fedoraproject.org/.../python-classroom/now redirects to a general Fedora Labs page, not a Python Classroom page.discuss.python.org/t/22299and/c/packagingare short forms that the site expands. They work as they are.toml.ioredirects totoml.io/en/, andcryptography-vectorsredirects only to a different form of the same PyPI project name.Broken link:
hosted.weblate.orgreturns 403. This is probably a block on automated requests, not a dead page.📚 Documentation preview 📚: https://python-packaging-user-guide--2174.org.readthedocs.build/en/2174/
