What and why

This works through the items that are clear code fixes in the follow-up lists, and fixes two redaction gaps the batch turned up.

Refs #366. Refs #367. Refs #368. Refs #369. Refs #370. Refs #373.

Security

  • Signal Forms secrets in signal graphs. Signal Forms keeps each field's value in a signal with no name, and the signal graph masked values by name only. So a password, token or API key field reached the panel, agents, WebMCP and the static report in clear whenever that component's graph was shown. That includes main today, when the component is selected in the panel or with highlight. The page now collects each component's secret field values, by the same rules as component values (secret names, password and one-time-code fields, data-pangular="mask", unmask), and masks them in every node and history entry before the graph leaves the page.
  • Secret route params in named outlets. Before a navigation is recognized, the router collector found secret params from the route config but read only the primary path. So /(side:reset/TOKEN), a guard redirect, router link targets into named outlets, and named outlets under an empty-path layout route kept their secrets in clear. Every outlet group is now matched the way Angular's recognizer does.

Components and change detection (#366)

  • Recording hints. Answers and docs no longer tell agents to pass record: "start" to change-detection, which has been refused since the argument moved to record-change-detection. With agent.readOnly they name the panel's Record button. A test keeps the old wording out.
  • Recording start and stop. The panel waits for the page to confirm a start or stop, and says when the page did not confirm within 3 s.
  • Defer block ages. Blocks are aged on the page clock: each component push carries it.
  • Defer block notes. The panel's defer rows show the agent's notes (failed, stuck, dehydrated, error block) and the placeholder and loading times. The timer runs only while a block waits.
  • Multi-root defer blocks. They are highlighted with one box.
  • Hydration mismatch names. The SSR & HTTP scan names a mismatch by its component class.

Signals (#367)

  • Component peeks. inspect-signals can peek at a component injector by component or by a CSS selector. A selector that matches nothing is refused at once.

Forms (#368)

  • Forms page. It lists WebMCP tools that no form owns, and shows Angular's forms setup errors.

Analog (#369)

  • Named outlets. The page chain includes pages in named outlets, labelled with the outlet.

Panel and CI (#370, #373)

  • Keyboard access. The panel's scrolling content is reachable by keyboard (axe scrollable-region-focusable).
  • More axe checks. pnpm test:axe also checks every tab empty, loading, failed and filtered to nothing: 179 checks, up from about 60.
  • Node floor job. A new CI job installs the packed package on Node 22.12.0, the engines floor, and loads the CLI and every Node entry. The source tests can't run that old, because Node only runs .ts files from 22.18.

How it was verified

  • pnpm commit:check
  • pnpm format:check
  • pnpm typecheck (includes the ngc template checks)
  • pnpm test:devtools (3,634 tests) and pnpm test:panel (848 tests)
  • Docs in apps/docs updated and pnpm docs:build passes
  • pnpm extension:build and extension/ui committed
  • Checked in the browser with axe (pnpm test:axe, 179 checks, and e2e:panel)

End-to-end results:

Check Result
pnpm e2e:security 0 of 122 checks fail, 0 leaks. Before the Signal Forms fix it found the 3 leaks above.
pnpm e2e:mcp 636 calls, 0 failures
pnpm e2e:resilience 74 of 74
e2e:panel 96 views, 0 problems
e2e:install Angular CLI 20.0, Analog on pnpm, and --audit-only Pass
The engines floor job's steps on Node 22.12.0 Pass

Screenshots

There is no layout redesign. The panel changes are new rows, notices and badges in existing pages, all checked with axe in both themes.

Notes for reviewers

  • The tracker issues stay open. This PR references them. Items that need a decision, real devices or upstream work are left on them.
  • Defer ages in the panel assume the panel and server clocks agree; the agent tool doesn't. The docs say so. A full fix needs a server-time RPC.
  • Known gaps in the Signal Forms masking:
    • A secret field value is masked in an injector graph only once the page knows it from a component graph.
    • Watched-signal console logs and the signal restore message still mask by name only, but unnamed Signal Forms nodes don't reach them.
  • An old 0.0.7 agent that sends a class name as selector to inspect-signals now gets the CSS no-match refusal, which points it to component.

… wait for the page

#433 moved `record` from `change-detection` to `record-change-detection`
and refuses the old argument, but several answers still told agents to
call `change-detection` with `record: "start"`, and the recording tool
pointed back at itself. Every hint and the docs now name the right tool,
and a test keeps the old wording out.

The panel announced "Recording started." as soon as the request reached
the server, and a stop that got no report still announced a total. It
now waits for the page to report that recording is on or off, and says
the page did not confirm when no report comes within 3 seconds.

Refs #366
…tes in the panel

A defer block was aged with the server's clock against a time taken on
the page's, so a page whose clock ran ahead or behind showed wrong ages.
Each component push now carries the page clock, and the server ages
blocks by the offset.

The panel's defer rows show the same notes the agent gets (failed,
stuck, dehydrated, error block) and the placeholder and loading times.
A block with several root elements is highlighted with one box around
all of them, and the SSR and HTTP scan names a hydration mismatch by
its component class instead of the DOM node.

Refs #366
…panel

The collector reported WebMCP tools that no form owns and the forms
setup errors Angular printed, but the panel showed neither. The Forms
page now lists the other WebMCP tools in their own section and shows
setup errors in a notice.

Refs #368
A peek could only target an environment injector, so an agent asking
for the signals of a component that was not the selected one got the
routed graph instead. `inspect-signals` now resolves `component` the
way `highlight` does and takes a CSS `selector`, and a selector that
matches no component host is refused at once.

Refs #367
The page chain followed the first child route only, so pages rendered
in named outlets were missing from the Analog tools and the panel. It
now walks every child, primary chain first, and labels outlet pages
with their outlet name.

Refs #369
`pnpm test:axe` seeded only a few views with data. It now also checks
every tab with an empty project, a server that fails, requests that
never answer and a filter that matches nothing, and seeds plugins,
TanStack Query and forms data. It runs 179 checks, up from about 60.

Refs #370
…is recognized

Before a navigation is recognized, the router collector finds secret
params from the route config. It cut the URL at `(`, so it matched only
the primary path: a navigation such as `/(side:reset/TOKEN)` that a
guard redirects, and router link targets into named outlets, kept their
secret params in clear. It now parses every outlet group and matches it
against the config routes of that outlet.

The route walk shared by the router and Analog collectors visits each
route once and stops at 200 routes.
The panel's main region scrolls, but it was out of the Tab order, so a
page whose scrolling content has nothing focusable could not be scrolled
from the keyboard, and axe reported `scrollable-region-focusable`. The
region is now in the Tab order with the page name as its label and a
visible focus ring.
`engines.node` is `>=22.12.0`, but CI only ran the source tests on the
latest 22.x, and those need a newer Node to run TypeScript files. A new
job packs the package on the usual Node, installs the tarball on Node
22.12.0, and checks the CLI and the `cli`, `hub`, `ssr` and `vite`
entries, including `require()` of the hub.

Refs #373
… tidy the batch

Angular lets an empty-path primary route match while it reads a named
outlet group, so a layout such as `{ path: '', component: Shell,
children: [{ path: 'reset/:token', outlet: 'side' }] }` matches
`/(side:reset/X)`. The config walk that finds secret params before a
navigation is recognized skipped that route, so the token stayed in
clear. It now follows the same rule and walks the children for that
outlet.

Also:
- The SSR and HTTP panel and hub messages show a hydration mismatch
  class name without angle brackets.
- With `agent.readOnly`, change detection hints name the panel's
Record button instead of a tool that is not registered.
- The defer block timer runs only while a block is waiting, and the
ticking age stays out of the row's accessible name. The docs say the
panel ages blocks on its own clock.
- The engines floor job also loads the root, `devframe` and `config`
  entries.
Signal Forms keeps each field value in a signal with no name, and the
signal graph masked values by name, so a password, token or API key
field reached the panel, agents and the static report in clear. This
happened whenever that component's graph was shown: when it was
selected in the panel or with `highlight`, and now also through an
`inspect-signals` peek.

The page now collects the secret field values of each component, by
the same rules as the component values (secret names, password and
one-time-code fields, `data-pangular="mask"`, and `unmask`), and masks
them in every node and history entry before the graph leaves the page.

The change is mostly sound, with three small fixes worth making before merge. Signals holding secret values can lose exact write history. The "start recording" hints for a specific page do not say which page, so following them records on all pages. Older pages can show false "stuck" notes on defer blocks.

Workers Builds: angular-devtools fails here as it does on main. The cause is the Cloudflare dashboard settings (root directory and Worker name), not this change. It's tracked in #431, and there's no fix to bring into this PR.

130-130: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick win

Fix the clock in this test.

The test derives pageNow from the real Date.now(). It then asserts the exact text stuck 30s. The panel rounds the age to whole seconds. A render or CI stall of about 500 ms moves the age to 31 s and fails the test. Fake only Date so the age stays deterministic and the real setTimeout waits in settle still work.

Proposed fix
-    const pageNow = Date.now() + hour;
+    vi.useFakeTimers({ toFake: ['Date'] });
+    vi.setSystemTime(1_700_000_000_000);
+    const pageNow = Date.now() + hour;

Add vi.useRealTimers() to the existing afterEach.

Based on learnings: tests that depend on the current time must use a fake clock, not the system time.

…ut a time

- The change detection diagnosis and export answers about one page now
pass that page to the suggested `record-change-detection` call, as
`change-detection` already did, so following them records only that
  page.
- A defer block the page sent no time for gets no age, so an older page
no longer shows every waiting block as stuck.
- Signal history matches a write to a node by its raw value on the
page, so a node whose value the graph masks keeps its exact writes.
- The defer panel test runs on a fixed clock.
