TIP This summary will be updated as you push new changes.
π¨ Severity: CRITICAL
π‘ Vulnerability: The SetPortrait method in CustomEmployeeManager.cs used the employeeId string parameter in Path.Combine without validating it. Even though it is checked during registration, direct calls could bypass this check.
π― Impact: This could allow a path traversal vulnerability (CWE-22) if an attacker crafts an employeeId like "../../something" to load an arbitrary image file.
π§ Fix: Wrapped the file reading logic with a check for invalid path characters and ".." to ensure the path doesn't escape the ModAssets directory, adding defense-in-depth. If validation fails, it skips image loading but allows the fallback color logic to execute.
β Verification: Tested the test suite using dotnet test to ensure no regressions.
