Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Passwords are now masked in diagnostic logs when creating password-protected favorite exports, reducing the risk of exposing them in log output. The archive command and export behavior remain unchanged, so password-protected exports continue to work as before. This update affects what appears in logs, not the contents of exported archives or the password used to protect them.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

FavoriteFolderExportPlugin.zip_with_password now redacts the configured password in the logged 7z command. The command that runs remains unchanged.

Changes

Archive password logging

Layer / File(s) Summary
Redact the logged command
src/jmcomic/jm_plugin.py
The plugin replaces the configured password with **** in the logged command. It still executes the original command.

Priority: ➖ Normal

Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~5 minutes

Change: Bug fix

Suggested reviewers: hect0x7

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 2b543

A failed archive command can still put its password in logs, so the redaction is incomplete. Address that failure path before relying on the change to protect passwords.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to 2b543

The patch reduces password exposure without changing archive execution or expanding access. Passwords can still appear in failure logs through an existing exception path. That condition predates this patch; actual exposure depends on who can access those logs.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The supported confidentiality impact concerns the configured password and archives protected by it. Exploitation requires access to password-bearing failure output; the evidence does not establish an unauthenticated trigger, cross-tenant reachability, or the full scope of password reuse.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • observed — The retained finding describes an existing failure path: a nonzero subprocess result produces an exception containing the original password-bearing command, and plugin error handling logs str(e). Base/head comparison found this path and its effective authority unchanged, so it is not an active PR-introduced architecture concern.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The normal log replaces the password argument with -p****, but the subprocess receives the unredacted command. Redirecting stdout to 7z_output.txt does not prevent the original command from reaching exception logging.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Extend secret-safe rendering to command failures so diagnostics retain useful exit information without serializing the password-bearing command. Preserve the original execution arguments and existing failure-before-deletion behavior.

Sanitize 7z failures before plugin logging.

execute_multi_line_cmd(cmd_list) raises CalledProcessError with the original command string. The plugin handler logs that exception, so a failed 7z command can expose the password. Catch the failure and raise an exception with only the return code. Use from None to suppress the original traceback.

Sanitize the failure exception
         import shlex

真要脱敏的话 JmModuleConfig.disable_jm_log() 一句话就够了,比在插件里到处 replace 干净。

你这到底是啥模型,比codex说人话🤣
