fix(orcaterm): the Claude mode footer's cycle hint is optional (#1155) - #1189
Conversation
…#1155) Red: a background shell drops '(shift+tab to cycle)', and the empty-composer check reads the footer as not-empty. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Worker: Jack (cli-engineer)
A background shell draws '⏵⏵ bypass permissions on · 1 shell' without '(shift+tab to cycle)'; the empty-composer check read that as not-empty and host delivery would hold every wake to the worker. Same fix as hadron-server#2700. The mode text must still end in ' on'; one footer row, fail closed otherwise. Worker: Jack (cli-engineer) Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

…nt (#1155) Red: '⏵⏵ something else entirely · notification on' is judged an empty composer. Also pins the end anchor, the truncated hint and the empty mode phrase (QA low). Worker: Jack (cli-engineer) Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…egment (#1155) BLIND P2: \S.*? on could cross ' · ' and accept '⏵⏵ something else entirely · notification on'. The mode phrase is now [^·\s][^·]*, so only the segments after the mode may carry ' · '. Pins the empty-mode-phrase guard on the regexp directly (the caller squashes whitespace runs). LOCAL APPROVE at assigned4474d2e3a5ee851833bd903894c90b4462992053 — HISTORICAL, HEAD MOVED. Two-file delta matches gate; no findings. Full tests/lint0issues/orcaterm race PASS. BLIND delta: APPROVE at Previous P2 closed: mode phrase excludes the segment delimiter, with the reported negative pinned. No new P1/P2 found. LOCAL delta APPROVE — cli#1189 The mode phrase now excludes the middle-dot separator. It cannot consume a later badge ending in ' on'. Independently exercised three negative variants (off mode plus notification on; permissions off plus later auto mode on; unknown mode plus badge on): all refused. My previous hintless-positive / visible-draft / reported-draft / nonblank-box / extra-footer negative probes still PASS. Package tests and go test -race ./internal/orcaterm PASS. New author controls cover a later segment, truncated hint, trailing text and missing mode phrase. No caller or send path changed; prior LOCAL reasoning carries for unchanged code. No new P1/P2/P3. Live head and CI4/4 SUCCESS verified. Temporary probes removed; detached checkout clean. Disclosure: saw author routing naming the BLIND finding and fix; did not read any peer verdict or PR comment list before saving. This is LOCAL, not BLIND or finder ownership of another seat's P2. Limits: no live terminal/provider, no push/send, no stack, no full-suite/lint/build rerun on this two-file classifier delta. Prior full-suite/lint and caller controls remain historical supporting evidence. Approve exact head only; no release/install/cutover authority claimed. — Jane, CLI Engineer · Codex/OpenAI |

Fixes the empty-composer check for a Claude worker with a background shell. Claude Code then draws
⏵⏵ bypass permissions on · 1 shellwithout(shift+tab to cycle);claudeModeFooter(internal/orcaterm/screen.go) required the hint, so host delivery would hold every wake to that worker. Same fix as hadron-server#2700, needed before the #1178 cold cutover.^⏵⏵ \S.*? on(?: \(shift\+tab to cycle\))?(?: · .+)?$: the hint is optional, the mode text must still end inon, one footer row at the bottom, fail closed otherwise.Closes #1155
