Closes #1176 (companion of hadron-server#2661; portal companion hadron-portal#487).

What

hadron memory set --app <app> --class app --name <n> with no --agent calls createAppMemory. With --agent the createMemoryInApp path is unchanged. Accepted on the new route: --name (required), --short, --description, --tag. Help and agentic-usage.md say who may do it (org admin/owner as themselves, not an App key or worker session) and that an existing memory cannot be attached this way.

Usage errors (exit 2, nothing sent), one pin each: --class missing/personal/private (exact wording from the issue), --name missing, each of --max-rev-count --visibility --slug --org --owner-me --draft-corpus --schema --schema-file --listed-on-marketplace, a positional ref (--app applies only when creating), --agent without --app (unchanged wording), and an explicitly empty --agent= (gated on Changed, so --agent="$UNSET" cannot fall through to the no-agent route).

Server SHA

Schema snapshot refreshed in a detached worktree of hadron-server 0dd0a5011 (origin/main; contains a87ba3517, the #2670 merge). generated.go regenerated, never hand-edited; the snapshot diff also carries unrelated server changes that landed since the last refresh (it had lagged). internal/cmd/spec/mcp-tools.txt regenerated from the same SHA (it was stale: adds hadron_create_app_memory plus other tools already on server main).

Evidence

  • Red first: the new tests failed (no CreateAppMemory route) before the change.
  • make lint, go test ./..., make schema-check, make help-inventory-check, make tools-manifest-check green locally (schema-check and tools-manifest-check with HADRON_SERVER_DIR at the pinned worktree).
  • Mutants: dropping each refused flag from the guard list fails its pin, except --listed-on-marketplace, which survives as an equivalent mutant (the existing "only applies when updating" guard refuses it, also exit 2, nothing sent). The first --schema-file pin used a nonexistent file and let that mutant survive; the pin now uses a real file and kills it. Removing the --class app guard fails the class pins.

Disclosure: refusal codes

Per the repo's #566 rule the server's sentence is shown and its extensions.code becomes the exit code; the code string itself is not echoed. Mapped and pinned in TestMapError: FORBIDDEN → 8, BAD_USER_INPUT → 2, AGENT_NOT_INSTALLED → 2, USER_OWNED_APP_UNSUPPORTED → 1 (decided: a platform limit pending a ruling, no input helps). End-to-end pins in TestMemorySetCreateAppMemoryServerRefusals.

Review-changes checklist walked: map-new-server-error-codes, an-empty-flag-is-not-an-absent-flag, help-text-matches-changed-behaviour, regenerate-after-graphql-edit, omit-unset-optional-args (tags/short/description omitted when unset, pinned) apply and pass; old-server-graphql-document-compatibility skipped (new-only operation).

Stamped plan T1 Standard: BLIND + LOCAL + QA (real CLI binary, private stack). Seat tasks follow at freeze; this head is not yet frozen.

…app memory (#1176)

--app without --agent now routes to createAppMemory (hadron-server#2661,
cor:acl:010:01). It takes only --name/--short/--description/--tag; every other
create flag, a missing or non-app --class, a missing --name, a positional memory
and an explicitly empty --agent are usage errors before any request. With
--agent the createMemoryInApp path is unchanged.

Schema snapshot refreshed against hadron-server 0dd0a5011 (origin/main, contains
a87ba3517, the #2670 merge). MCP tool manifest regenerated against the same.

FROZEN at aeccc23400cb84c13d364816d785d4c0035f9b2f — CI 4/4 green, CLEAN, 0 behind main. Closes #1176. T1 Standard.

Head since the first push: one commit refreshing internal/api/unbound-ops.txt (the schema bump added three unwrapped server operations; annotated, no behavior change).

Seats (all non-Claude, author is Claude): BLIND Joost, LOCAL Jane, QA Cameron (real binary, private stack). No security seat at T1.

BLIND: CHANGES REQUESTED at aeccc23400cb84c13d364816d785d4c0035f9b2f.

Fresh context-free diff-only run, no tools, repo/project, issue/gate, Hadron/chat or peer artifacts. Verbatim verdict saved/read back before peers: hrn:node:hadronmemory.com:hadron-dev-team-shared:sprints:sprint-2:reviews:hadron-cli-1188:joost.

P2: internal/cmd/memory/set.go:115, supplied empty --app may bypass App routing and select ordinary memory creation. Reject --app= before routing and pin exit 2/no requests using an ordinary-create-compatible class.

P3s: help promises raw refusal codes while the test describes mapped-message presentation; optional input omission/empty-list coverage is incomplete. Existing mapper/DTO/server authorization and transaction behavior outside the diff were not verified. No local tests or stack claimed. Runner Codex/OpenAI, fresh codex exec default model (exact identifier unreported).

LOCAL CHANGES REQUESTED — aeccc23

P2: unrelated shared-input wire regression. Refreshed CreateAgentTaskInput adds priority and blockedBy without omitempty; ordinary existing team task create now sends both as null. My command-capture probe validates the actual generated AgentTaskCreate document/variables against the committed PR-base schema: fails unknown input field. Omitting ONLY these two fields restores valid input. So the old-server compatibility skip as “new-only operation” misses this existing task mutation. Add per-field omission annotations and regenerate, with actual existing-request regression coverage; keep legitimate refreshed SDL.

P3: memory set help says refusal code strings are shown, while actual output preserves the sentence and maps codes to numeric exits. Align wording without a polish source move by itself.

Full tests, clean-tree lint0issues, build, generation(no drift), help/unbound checks PASS. Own10 empty/false refused flags send zero calls; optional omission, text/JSON parity and null-result controls PASS. Author new-route test copied to detached base fails for intended old paired-flag behavior. Saved/read back before peers: hrn:node:hadronmemory.com:hadron-dev-team-shared:sprints:sprint-2:reviews:hadron-cli-1188:jane-local-aeccc234.

Limits: no live server/stack or independent binary QA; no schema/tools re-export against named server; no race/release. Detached checkouts cleaned, own branch untouched. Detailed method/limits in node.

BLIND P2 on aeccc23: --app="$UNSET" skipped both App routes and fell
through to an ordinary free-standing create. Gate on Changed like --agent.
Also fix the help wording on refusals and pin optional inputs.

FIX HEAD FROZEN at 53603b21d4b0ac308c948e281cf68ef39073ed14 — CI 4/4 green, CLEAN, 0 behind main. Closes #1176.

Moved from aeccc234 because of BLIND P2 (Joost): an explicitly empty --app= skipped both App routes and fell through to an ordinary free-standing create.

  • 52f9d821: memory set refuses --app given-but-empty (usage exit 2, nothing sent), gated on Changed like --agent; refusal help now says the server's message is shown and the exit status is mapped from its code; new pin for a supplied --description and an omitted --tag; two matrix rows. Mutant (guard disabled) turns both rows red.
  • 53603b21: merge of main (never rebased). One conflict, internal/api/unbound-ops.txt, regenerated; four schema operations annotated.
  • Not done, disclosed: BLIND P3 asking for a pin on an explicitly empty tag list; the binding comment's [] promise is unchanged and untested here.

Delta tasks: BLIND Joost, LOCAL Jane, QA Cameron.

…fresh (#1176)

LOCAL P2 on aeccc23: the refreshed CreateAgentTaskInput added priority and
blockedBy without omitempty, so an ordinary team task create sent both as
null and failed coercion on a provider without them. Per-field omitempty,
regenerated, and the existing compat pin now covers all three fields.

FIX HEAD FROZEN (supersedes 53603b2) at 1a9417460dafa1357884df62d775f852b0497c21 — CI 4/4 green, CLEAN, 0 behind main. Closes #1176.

Reason: LOCAL P2 (Jane, aeccc23), accepted as a real defect. The schema refresh added priority and blockedBy to CreateAgentTaskInput without omitempty, so an ordinary team task create sent both as null, which a provider without them rejects. One commit on top of 53603b2:

  • agenttasks.graphql: per-field omitempty for CreateAgentTaskInput.priority and .blockedBy (alongside the existing project); generated.go regenerated (two tags, nothing else).
  • TestTaskCreateOmitsUnsupportedProjectInput now asserts project, priority and blockedBy are all absent from the real command's variables; it fails on 53603b2 and passes here.
  • Checked the generated diff against main for any other new key on an existing operation's input: none.

LOCAL P3 (help wording) was already fixed in 52f9d82. Delta since 53603b2 is that one commit; the earlier delta (aeccc23..52f9d82) is unchanged.

BLIND delta: APPROVE at 1a9417460dafa1357884df62d775f852b0497c21, full delta from aeccc23400cb84c13d364816d785d4c0035f9b2f (supersedes the task title's obsolete 53603b2).

Prior P2 closed: explicitly supplied empty --app is refused before routing. Help P3 closed. Optional-input P3 partially closed; explicitly empty tags remain an optional pin or binding-comment clarification. No new P1/P2 established by the delta. Approval carries to this exact head within the blind delta scope, not automatically to a later head.

Verbatim run output saved/read back before peers: hrn:node:hadronmemory.com:hadron-dev-team-shared:sprints:sprint-2:reviews:hadron-cli-1188:joost-delta-1a941746. Fresh context-free run supplied only exact delta and my own previous verbatim findings, no tools called. Runner Codex/OpenAI default model (exact identifier unreported).

Tests inspected, not executed. Existing mapper/DTO/server and imported wake-path implementation guarantees outside the delta remain unverified by this seat; no LOCAL, QA or §10 scope claimed.

LOCAL delta APPROVE — cli#1188
Head: 1a94174; reviewed delta from aeccc23.

My P2 is CLOSED: genqlient source now omits priority/blockedBy and regenerated CreateAgentTaskInput has omitempty on both. Independently reran my original actual-command capture plus base-schema GraphQL variable-coercion probe: PASS. Existing task-create omission pin and my memory refusal/omission/DTO/null-result probes PASS. The explicit empty --app guard refuses before requests, including ordinary-create shape. Help P3 corrected to server message plus mapped exit status.

Reviewed actual merge: parents 52f9d82/2aa401e, conflict recorded only in regenerated unbound-ops. Incoming host delivery/run/wakes and delivery package match my independently reviewed 2a254b6 byte-for-byte; memory command, pins and task query unchanged across merge. make generate PASS with zero drift; full go test ./... PASS; golangci-lint run --allow-parallel-runners PASS (0 issues). Temporary probe files removed, detached tree clean. Live exact head and CI4/4 SUCCESS verified.

Disclosure: saw author closure/routing summaries, including references to other seats; did not open peer verdicts or PR comment lists before saving this verdict. This is LOCAL, not BLIND. Limits: no live provider/schema-tools replay, DB, stack, terminal delivery, race run, release/install or production writes in this delta. Prior review limits remain. No new P1/P2; no new P3. Approve this exact head only.

QA delta PASS at CLI 1a9417460dafa1357884df62d775f852b0497c21, server pin 0dd0a50113830c2aac1a4dd0e1c13d5f6e07528f. Built real binary v0.29.0-21-g1a94174; all 31 usage cases exit 2 with zero HTTP requests, including empty-App variants with and without org/class. Actual ordinary task-create input omits project, priority, and blockedBy. Focused memory/compatibility/error tests plus schema, help and tool-manifest checks pass.

The six earlier live-stack cases carry: text/JSON creation and four real refusal mappings passed at aeccc234 against the same server pin. Current changes leave every nonempty-App path, the generated CreateAppMemory function, memory query, error mapper, factory and root wiring unchanged; the receipt records that comparison. Stack execution used the configured gpt-6-luna helper; Cameron retained the verdict and ran current delta checks.

Saved/read-back evidence, versions, carry rationale and limits. Limits: no second stack on the delta binary, full Go suite, broad host-delivery review or security-seat clearance. Task omission was captured with a loopback counter, not a live task creation. All stacks, credentials, counters and detached checkouts are cleaned. Peer-summary exposure is disclosed; coordinator owns readiness.
