Adds explicit --lint-warnings to node get/add/update/approve/move/clone/merge/restore, preserving default and false queries/JSON. Refs #916, C3c only; leaves #916 open. Worker/skill/bulk-authoring surfaces remain separate.

After main success, a separate current source-lint read uses the returned/resolved node ID. Unrequested field omitted; requested unavailable null; complete page {items, total, nextCursor:null}. Late failure/null/changed total/repeated cursor/stall/caps never produce partial clean warnings. Human text is terminal-safe; JSON preserves server text/nullables. No mutation retry/undo/exit alteration. Actual body-only/dry-run combinations refuse before requests. Existing response-extension warnings remain unchanged.

Current FROZEN1a63de56dc375c102ba3270406b6f505aa84fdd3, CI4/4 SUCCESS, CLEAN, T1 gate6481534063. Actual main577f6395 (C1b/C3b/C5) merged without rebase; hunk6483593409. C3c warning/budget code, query and tests unchanged from approved450dd2ea; API and inventories regenerated, registration/usage unions retained. Prior fix closure6482012954 retained. A shared five-second advisory budget bounds the whole command, all pages and batch nodes after main success; timeout leaves requested-null. Red-first deadline/cancellation pins plus eight-command on/off/default/returned-ID, batch human/JSON, and unconfirmed/TTY-declined merge pins. C6/usage/help conflicts keep both features; generated API refreshed.

Full author suite/lint/build/gen/unbound/help checks pass. Prior450dd2ea BLIND Rico6482059915, LOCAL Joshua6482167727 and QA Charles6482194017 all approve/PASS; new same-holder final-main carries are pending at1a63de56. Prior compiled independent QA fake-only; multi-get/native install/early refusal coverage limits stated, no live claim. Optional P3s#1172. Plans/checklist: docs/plans/916-node-lint-warnings*.md. No release/install/activation.

BLIND review: CHANGES REQUESTED at a9a5421f95b8df82313332c97523069bbebe8421

The input was the diff only: a context-free claude -p run with no tools, no repo and no project context. Findings are verbatim in the review node.

  • No P1.
  • P2-1: a write's receipt waits on up to 1000 sequential lint requests with no time limit (lint_warnings.go:60). If the process is killed during that loop, the receipt is lost. For node add, a retry then creates a duplicate node. Fix: run the read under its own timeout and report it as unavailable on timeout.
  • P2-2: only add, approve and single get are tested. The other five commands (update, move, clone, merge, restore) and the batch get path are not. Fix: a table test over all eight.
  • P2-3: batch get in human mode may drop the warnings. emitNodeBatch is not in the diff, so this needs either evidence or a fix.
  • P2-4: other dry-run, preview or decline paths in add, merge, move, clone and restore may still run the lint read. Needs evidence that they don't.
  • P3 ×11: silent read failures, the **T slot ergonomics, JSON field order, "after success" wording on get, magic numbers, test naming, brittle assertions, untested branches, plan doc typos, the help-inventory diff, and batch get cost.

P2-3 and P2-4 are "can't judge from the diff". Answering them with evidence on the PR is enough.

Run by Rico (Claude), model claude-opus-5-5, input: diff only, head a9a5421.

QA: PASS at exact head a9a5421f95b8df82313332c97523069bbebe8421 (hadron-cli#1167), compiled CLI against a loopback fake provider.

  1. Default and --lint-warnings=false: no lint request, no lintWarnings key, one write (get/add/update/approve/move/clone/merge/restore).
  2. Opt-in: complete 2-page record, cursor sent; real empty answer stays {items:[],total:0}.
  3. Unavailable stays null with exit 0, one write and no retry (null node/page/items, late FORBIDDEN or null, changed total, repeated/empty cursor, over-/under-count): 104 cells, no partial or clean output.
  4. Lint read uses the returned node id (clone/move/merge with a new id); a failed write reads no lint (exit 8).
  5. get --body-only and update --dry-run with the flag: exit 2, zero requests.
  6. Human output strips ESC/BEL; --json keeps exact text.

Limits: fake transport only, no live server or older-server behaviour; not run through the binary: multi-node/--prefix get, --install composition, merge early-refusal, 1000-request cap (PR unit tests only, passing). Two known environmental team-chat tests fail on base too. Node: hrn:node:hadronmemory.com:hadron-dev-team-shared:sprints:sprint-2:qa:hadron-cli-1167:charles-a9a5421f. Saved before reading any other seat's verdict. Model: Claude Sonnet 5.5.

LOCAL review — APPROVE at a9a5421f95b8df82313332c97523069bbebe8421 (exact head, undrafted, CI 4/4 green). No P1/P2; P3 test-pin gaps only.

Verified: opt-in only (default and =false add no query or JSON field; unrequested omitted, requested-but-unavailable null, success a complete {items, total, nextCursor:null} page); lint read only after a successful write, never on a failed write, no retry/undo, a lint failure never changes the write's exit; read keyed on the returned/resolved node id; page integrity fails closed to null (error, null node/items, drifting or overrun total, short final page, empty/repeated cursor, 1000-request cap); get --body-only and update --dry-run refuse before any request; terminal-safe human text; C7 install selector composition unchanged. Build, tests, lint and help-inventory pass. A throwaway probe at the head confirmed update, restore, clone, move, merge and multi-ref get (JSON and human) all carry the lint page.

P3 (non-blocking): --lint-warnings has no test on update, move, clone, merge, restore or multi-ref/prefix get (dropping the lint read from each survives the PR's tests; my probe kills each), the lint read's ref is not asserted for single get or move, and the page-integrity guards are only indirectly pinned. A table test over those doors would close it.

Limits: fake transport only, no live lint server; independent compiled-CLI QA is Charles's seat. Evidence: sprints:sprint-2:reviews:hadron-cli-1167:joshua-local-a9a5421f in hadron-dev-team-shared. Readiness and merge are the coordinator's.

Combined fix + main integration head450dd2eada3f156aa06885351f74228d7c0b1a14 (freeze only after hosted CI green).

Rico P2-1: one five-second advisory budget is shared across the entire command, every page and every batch-get node. It starts after main success and never constrains/retries the mutation. Timeout/cancellation yields requested-null, no partial warnings. A canceled budget sends no new request. Rededdb771 pins independent deadline/shared budget/canceled read; fixed and green. The receipt is delayed at most this advisory budget (subject to normal local rendering/transport cancellation), not 1000 sequential unbounded requests.
P2-2: on/off/default matrix covers get/add/update/approve/move/clone/merge/restore, one native mutation for writes, no new field/read when off/default, lint query uses resolved/returned ID (including changed move/clone/merge IDs). Both JSON/human multi-get paths are tested for each node.
P2-3 answered and pinned: renderNodeBatch already calls renderNodeDetail, which calls renderLintWarnings. No missing renderer hookup; both modes show the requested warning results.
P2-4 answered and pinned: only get has body-only and only update has dry-run; those exclusions stay pre-request. Tests assert other six commands have no dry-run/preview/body-only mode. Merge confirmation precedes mutation/read; noninteractive refusal and explicit TTY decline both make no mutation/lint request.

C6 maina4c34d55 merged without rebase. Conflicts only shared help inventory/agentic usage (both feature sections kept); generated API refreshed with C6 operation removals, no manual edit. C3c native mutation/ref selectors unchanged. Full Go suite after merge PASS; lint0/build/gen/unbound/help freshness PASS after a test-style switch fix. Focused budget+all command tests PASS. Actual help-inventory check passes; inventory records shape booleans, not every flag text.

Limits: author fake transport only, prior independent QA was fake-only (multi-get/--install/merge-refusal unit-only before this fix). No new live claim. Optional residuals filed#1172; no approved-head polish. Refs#916, leaves#916 open.

BLIND delta: APPROVE at 450dd2eada3f156aa06885351f74228d7c0b1a14 (from a9a5421f)

The input was my previous findings plus the author's delta only, all three parts below. I did not give the run the closure map. The run's output is verbatim in the delta node.

  • git diff a9a5421f d508cf2
  • git show --cc b213164: the C6 merge, showing only the conflict-resolution hunks
  • git show 450dd2e

My earlier P2s, all CLOSED:

  • P2-1 (lint read delayed the receipt): fixed. One 5-second budget is shared across the whole command, and a cancelled budget sends no request.
  • P2-2 (missing tests): fixed. A test matrix covers all eight commands, plus batch get in both JSON and human output.
  • P2-3 (batch get human output): answered and pinned. Batch human output renders the warnings.
  • P2-4 (other skip paths): answered and pinned. Tests fail if another command gains a dry-run, preview or body-only mode, and both merge-decline paths make no mutation and no lint read.
  • The merge resolution keeps both sections; the run judged it correct.

New P3s (none block):

  • N1: cmd.SetContext keeps the deadline on the command. This is latent if a command is ever reused.
  • N2: no test cuts off a slow page mid-request.
  • N3: the batch JSON assertion also passes on null.
  • N4: with the flag on, the matrix only checks that the key is present, not that it holds a real page.
  • N5: a duplicate get read would not be counted.
  • N6: a stub panics instead of calling t.Fatalf.
  • N7: import grouping.

Most of my earlier P3s are still open: silent null (now including timeouts), shared help wording on get, test naming, and plan-doc typos. The run would like N3, N4 and P3-5 addressed before merge, but none of them block.

Checked against the closure map (6482012954): it matches the run. The map also answers run item 14: the help-inventory check passes. Run item 1 still can't be judged from the diff alone: whether the root context and the GraphQL transport honour ctx.

Run by Rico (Claude), model claude-opus-5-5, input: previous findings + delta only, head 450dd2e.

LOCAL delta APPROVE at 450dd2e (vs a9a5421): no P1/P2. Shared five-second budget is a context value set once after main success (never constrains a mutation, not reset by paging or batch nodes); expired budget skips the request; prior P3 pins now covered for all eight commands. Tests, lint, help-inventory clean; 5 mutants killed. Limits: fake transport only, no real-timeout run. QA delta: PASS at exact head 450dd2eada3f156aa06885351f74228d7c0b1a14 (hadron-cli#1167, vs my PASS at a9a5421), compiled CLI against a loopback fake provider.

  1. Five-second budget, all eight commands: slow pages → lintWarnings: null, exit 0, one main write, no partial page, no retry; within budget → complete page.
  2. Batch get of 3 nodes: budget is shared, not per node (1.8 s each → third null; 3 s each → second cut, third never requested). No flag → no key, no reads.
  3. Regression byte-identical to a9a5421: default/false (16), 13-case failure matrix × 8 commands (104), failed write reads no lint, declined merge reads no lint.

Limits: fake transport only; timings approximate (single-threaded fake); not run through the binary: --prefix get, --install; C6 team behaviour not assessed. Two known environmental team-chat tests fail on base too. Node: hrn:node:hadronmemory.com:hadron-dev-team-shared:sprints:sprint-2:qa:hadron-cli-1167:charles-delta-450dd2ea. FROZEN main integration head1a63de56dc375c102ba3270406b6f505aa84fdd3, hosted CI 4/4 SUCCESS, CLEAN. Plain merge of main577f6395ba9d784956453def866b688f654f91e8 (#1158+#1159+#1161) into approved450dd2ea; no rebase.

  • Native C3c warning/budget implementation, command tests and node_lint.graphql have zero diff. No timeout/rendering/advisory policy change.
  • node.go auto-merge retains all lint-flag command doors and adds main's provenance registration. Incoming C1b/C3b/C5 files and schema match main.
  • agentic usage conflict keeps both the C3c section/budget wording and main feature sections; help inventory rebuilt from combined tree.
  • Generated API/unbound inventory regenerated. Existing native node input types unchanged; CreateAgentTaskInput gains main's omit-when-nil Project plus regression pin. Generated lint item differs only in WorkerField's SDL comment, no Go type or JSON change. No worker/skill lint operation added here.

Full local suite/lint/build/generation/unbound/help freshness pass. Same-holder scoped applicability owed, no automatic carries. Prior fake-provider timeout/batch QA limits and P3s1172 retained; no new stack/live claim. Refs#916; leaves#916 open; no release/install/activation.

BLIND carry: CARRIES at 1a63de56dc375c102ba3270406b6f505aa84fdd3 (from 450dd2ea)

The run saw only my previous review, the merge's --cc diff, and an interdiff of the PR's own diff before and after the main merge (577f6395). Its output is verbatim in the carry node.

  • Unchanged by the merge: the C3c code, query and tests. The interdiff shows only regenerated generated.go (the new LintKindWorkerLinkMissing constant plus a comment on WorkerField), changed context lines around agentic-usage.md, and the help-inventory re-pin.
  • The merge resolution is clean. Nothing is dropped or duplicated.
  • M1, a P3 on a condition. The human-mode renderLintWarnings must render a new or unknown lint kind, such as WORKER_LINK_MISSING from main's schema, through a fallback. If it cannot, M1 becomes a P2. @joost, one line of evidence on the PR closes it. Optional: print workerField when it is set, and add one human-mode fixture with the new kind.
  • M2, a P3. Regeneration provenance: CI's gen check on this head settles it.
  • Run item 14 is still open. The inventory pins 450dd2e, not the merge result. make help-inventory-check output on 1a63de5 settles it.
  • My earlier P3s carry unchanged.

QA carry: PASS at exact head 1a63de56dc375c102ba3270406b6f505aa84fdd3 (hadron-cli#1167, vs my PASS at 450dd2e).

Diff vs 450dd2e is the main merge/regeneration. lint_warnings.go, node_lint.graphql and the C3c tests are byte-identical; no generated line touches lintWarnings, and the schema change (a WorkerField comment, a new unselected signatureLint field) does not affect the CLI's query. I reran the compiled CLI: default/false (16 cells) and the 13-case failure matrix × 8 commands (104 cells) are byte-identical to before; failed writes read no lint; --body-only/--dry-run refuse with zero requests; the 5 s budget gives null on slow pages and a complete page within budget.

Limits: fake transport only; timings approximate; batch shared budget not re-driven (code and tests byte-identical to the verified head); --prefix/--install not run through the binary; new provenance/served-prompt commands not assessed. Two known environmental team-chat tests fail on base too. Node: hrn:node:hadronmemory.com:hadron-dev-team-shared:sprints:sprint-2:qa:hadron-cli-1167:charles-carry-1a63de56. Author readiness handoff at frozen 1a63de5. CI 4/4 SUCCESS, CLEAN; fresh fetch: zero incoming main commits/files. Working tree clean. Full local test/lint/build/generate/unbound/help freshness passed on this head.

All exact-head carries received: BLIND Rico6483705907, LOCAL Joshua6483704262, QA Charles6483712893. Rico M1 evidence: internal/cmd/node/lint_warnings.go:131–134 iterates every item and prints output.SafeCell(item.Kind) and output.SafeCell(item.Text) unconditionally, with no enum switch/filter; WORKER_LINK_MISSING and unknown kinds therefore render safely. No code change required. M2: hosted build/generation green; item14: actual-head make help-inventory-check printed “help inventory matches the command tree” (full author checks log). Optional workerField display/new-kind fixture and remaining P3s deferred to #1172; no approved-head polish.

QA remains fake transport only: final compiled default/false and 104-cell failure matrix plus slow-page budget checks; shared batch evidence carries unchanged from450dd2ea, approximate timings, prefix/install binary paths unrun; no new live authority proof. New provenance/served-prompt paths outside this QA scope. Prior environmental team-chat limits retained.

Refs #916; leaves #916 open. Marco owns ready call, Xabat merge. No release/install/activation.
