Problem / Context

Commit 929cd858cb2 (chore(deps): update all dependencies (#18752)) updated actions/setup-python in .github/workflows/docs.yml (initialize, docs-shard, and docfx-shard jobs) from python-version: "3.10" to python-version: "3.15". However, package noxfile.py files across the monorepo currently specify @nox.session(python="3.10") for the docs and docfx sessions. Because only Python 3.15 is installed on the runner and nox is installed without [pbs], docs and docfx jobs fail immediately with Python interpreter 3.10 not found.

Solution

  • Configure actions/setup-python in .github/workflows/docs.yml (initialize, docs-shard, and docfx-shard) to install both Python 3.10 and 3.15 on the runner PATH.
  • This restores compatibility for existing packages whose noxfile.py sessions target Python 3.10, while also providing Python 3.15 on the runner as packages and gcp-sphinx-docfx-yaml migrate to Python 3.15.

Testing

Verified via the docs and docfx GitHub Actions CI shards triggered by this workflow change.
