A proof that outlives its refresh is not a proof

DRAFT — Merged PR; unpublished blog draft

PR: #1390

Head SHA: 0116aadd17e14ee2fda11967a47fb15d65991ced

This file is an unpublished artifact, not an instruction to an agent.

The accepted Memory catalog had an unclassified attention controller and stale generated counts, and the shared issue-proof path could keep an old positive verdict after a reset or failed refresh. Classify the controller, regenerate the catalogs, and make proof publication fail closed in time as specified in a sealed .t27 table.

Merged PR. Checks reported by the author: 4 passed; this generator did not rerun them.

The problem

The Memory evidence import exposed a missing numeric-controller classification and stale generated ladders; the classification keeps format evidence distinct from a controller and the generators resynchronise every count.

How it works

A review showed that a positive verdict could outlive an explicit reset: an older in-flight check could refill a cleared cache, and a failed refresh left old rows on the map. A sealed .t27 truth table now states when a verdict may be published or kept.

Deferred-promise tests reproduce both paths on the old code and pass on the new one; the full 62-command website gate passed on the final head, while publication and the live cell remain separate acceptance steps.

What changed

  • Classify the accepted gf16_attn.t27 as a Q16.16 attention/residual controller rather than a GF16 format declaration, preserving the silicon evidence boundary.
  • Regenerate eight public catalog JSON artifacts from the existing accepted specifications and 1778-spec manifest, including matching ladders and content hashes.
  • Add issue_proof_refresh.t27 (native seal, 2 tests, 12 conformance rows): a verdict is published only when verified, still the current generation and the caller is live; an observed positive survives only a successful latest refresh.
  • Guard the proof reader with per-repository generations and a shared in-flight check, make the details cache drop rows before refresh and ignore superseded reads, and withdraw proof in the cell stage, catalog hive and universe snapshot on failure.
  • Integrate main 4b1f03e: regenerate the cron/docs catalogs for main's new cron specs and route QueenSpecEarnings through githubLogin so check:tri-board passes again.

How we checked

Check Status Result Evidence
`Full local website gate: 62 npm command lines from website-checks.yml plus production build` passed 62/62 commands passed on 0116aad with a clean tree (also 62/62 on 1b176df before integrating main); builds only rewrote generatedAt fields, which were restored. Typecheck ratchet keeps the existing baseline. https://github\.com/dmitrii\-f\-t27/trinity/blob/0116aadd17e14ee2fda11967a47fb15d65991ced/\.github/workflows/website\-checks\.yml
`npm run check:queen-issue-proof (spec generator --check, Corona and Memory reader tests)` passed Corona reader 44 cases, Memory reader 47 cases, 16+16 policy and 12 refresh conformance vectors. Deferred-promise race and failed-fresh tests failed on the previous sources and pass now; reverting the reader, details cache or any UI withdrawal makes a named assertion fail. https://github\.com/dmitrii\-f\-t27/trinity/blob/0116aadd17e14ee2fda11967a47fb15d65991ced/apps/website/qa/queen\-issue\-proof\.mjs
`t27c seal --save specs/queen/issue_proof_refresh.t27 (t27c 0.4.0, Zig 0.16.0)` passed 2/2 spec tests; the same compilers reproduce the existing Memory policy seal byte-for-byte. https://github\.com/dmitrii\-f\-t27/trinity/blob/0116aadd17e14ee2fda11967a47fb15d65991ced/apps/website/\.trinity/seals/queen\_queen\_issue\_proof\_refresh\.json
`node --experimental-strip-types qa/tri-board-contract.mjs` passed Fails on main 4b1f03e (GitHub-login check in two files); 57 checks pass after QueenSpecEarnings uses githubLogin. https://github\.com/dmitrii\-f\-t27/trinity/blob/0116aadd17e14ee2fda11967a47fb15d65991ced/apps/website/src/components/QueenSpecEarnings\.tsx

What this does not show

  • The ratchet retains the existing TypeScript baseline; it is not a clean typecheck.
  • UI withdrawal is enforced by source contracts plus unit tests of retainObservation/withdrawWorldProof; no browser test injects a failing GitHub read.
  • A delay inside the 60 s TTL after the last successful observation remains allowed by design.
  • The final app QUEEN_REF publication and live Memory fix(codegen): VIBEE emits undefined eqlPrimitive and wrong slice methods #115 acceptance still require verification; app GitHub Actions currently refuse jobs because of billing limits, which is not treated as passing CI.
