Closes #11058. Part of #10486.

What this adds

docs/analog/competitors.md gets a new section "## 11. Status after M1-M5" (174 added lines, none removed or changed: section 11, new sources in section 9, new gaps in section 10 and one pointer line under the title):

  • W1 to W10, one status line each, with the measured number and its source (spec header, PR body, or the epic and its ledger comment): 0 CLOSED, 8 REDUCED, 2 OPEN (W2 stiffness and multirate, W7 speed). No weakness is CLOSED because each has an acceptance clause that is measured as failing or not measured; the section says which.
  • W11 to W19, the weak points found while building, each with status and next step: the UART line-end defect only the board showed (closed for that defect), the comparator offset that needed a fitted number until its source was found (reduced), the cost and hosts of the reference runs (65 minutes against 18 minutes, reduced), fitted versus predicted (reduced), the reference not being unique at the LSB (open), the board running the behavioural converter and not the circuit (open), gate-level delays with fitted numbers (reduced), no mismatch or noise (open), toolchain debts (reduced).
  • Competitor delta since 2026-10-18 from a fresh search (WebSearch extended and standard, WebFetch of the primary page or the public API for each hit): nothing new dated after 2026-10-18 was found for FPGA circuit solvers, AMS emulation, real-number modelling, VACASK, ngspice, Xyce, OpenVAF, msdsl or cpphdl; it says so plainly, lists the state of each item with dates, and names three items the first pass had missed (all earlier than 2026-10-18).
  • Section 9 gains the sources, section 10 six new gaps.

Numbers are copied with their source; what was not found is tagged [U] (18 in the added text, none estimated). No partner, budget or private machine is named; the hosts are "the bench laptop" and "a remote Docker host".

Checks

$ git grep -n "## 11. Status after M1-M5" docs/analog/competitors.md
docs/analog/competitors.md:459:## 11. Status after M1-M5
$ git grep -c "^- W[0-9]*: \(CLOSED\|REDUCED\|OPEN\)" docs/analog/competitors.md
docs/analog/competitors.md:10
$ git grep -c "^### W" docs/analog/competitors.md
docs/analog/competitors.md:19
$ git grep -n -i "edmund\|humenberger" docs/analog/competitors.md
(no output, exit 1)
$ LC_ALL=C grep -n -P "[^\x00-\x7F]" docs/analog/competitors.md
(no output, exit 1)

No spec, seal or generated file is touched, so no tri gate applies beyond the issue gate (the commit hook noted that no tri binary is built).

Not claimed

  • The delta covers a one-day window; vendor spec pages carry no dates, one paper page returned 403 and one news item is paywalled (section 10).
  • Nothing here is a speed claim: W7 stays OPEN and may_claim_speedup in specs/analog/bench.t27 still says no.

…, nine weak points found while building, a competitor delta (Closes #11058)

Section 11 "Status after M1-M5" of docs/analog/competitors.md: W1 to W10 each CLOSED, REDUCED or OPEN
with the measured number and its spec, PR or epic source (0 CLOSED, 8 REDUCED, 2 OPEN); W11 to W19 are
the weak points found while building (the UART line end only the board showed, the fitted comparator
offset and its source, the reference-run cost, fitted versus predicted, the LSB-level reference, the
behavioural board top, gate-level fitted delays, no mismatch, toolchain debts); the competitor delta of
2026-10-19 says plainly that nothing dated after 2026-10-18 was found. Sections 9 and 10 gain the new
sources and gaps. Numbers not found are tagged [U], none is estimated.

…ts, competitor delta (Closes #11058)

Merge of master plus sealing, gates run on the merged tree with t27c from master: tests clean with vacuous passes 0, seal --verify MATCH, tri types ratchet CLEAN, dupe_scan failure set a subset of master's.

These columns do not partition: 2 + 47 + 0 + 0 = 49, and there are 50 open PRs. A PR is being counted twice or not at all.

Seal Status

  • ⚠️ STALE -- sha256(compiler.rs)=57b91bb96334 != manifest seal=87e5cbd3ad94.
    The committed NMSE numbers were certified against an older compiler.rs.
