What

specs/claw/shape_race.t27 replays the issue-shape gate ("Needs boundary") under two readings of the same timeline:

payload: what the gate does today. It judges the body and the shape-refused label that the event carried when it was created.
live: it judges the body, labels and state as they are when the job runs.

The fixture is #10644's real timeline (run and job API, 2026-10-18). The issue was opened with a failing body and fixed by an edit four minutes later. The gate's first job ran twenty minutes after that and closed it. The next job read a stale REFUSED: false and left it closed. Only a third edit reopened it, 1246 s later.

Mutations: 23 of 23 fail a test, none only by turning the spec BLOCKED. The first run left one survivor (the live end word printed from the payload result), now pinned by the_plan_prints_each_reading_its_own_end.
