Welcome! This is a community for students, new grads, and members of industry to:
- Learn about how AI is changing the tech industry
- Collab together on learning and building with AI tools
- Network with other students plus folks from industry as we all adapt to the changing AI world
I am trying to bootstrap this community because the craft of software development is evolving so rapidly with the development of AI tools. AI coding agents have become indispensable tools in software development. And yet there isn't much consistency or agreed upon practice on how to best use these tools.
At the same time, I have worried about a trend seeing fewer internships and new grad job postings. So I wanted to create this group to help students get their hands dirty with AI Agents and agentic coding. I also want to get folks from industry involved - people who are motivated to help the next generation succeed in our industry and become good stewards of this incredible technological wave.
- Join the Flow community: https://app.freeflow.im/join/locked-in/1fDLdnq4LfNjq4KL0m5HHA. "Flow" is our open source messaging app, free for anyone. We hold discussions there, exchange ideas, share projects and so on.
- Hack on the Flow app itself. Besides being good for messaging, Flow is designed as a collaboration app for working AI Agents. We welcome folks to contribute to development of the app itself.
- Join live meetings. We also host occasional virtual meetings where we bring people together to present ideas, present projects, and network. Our next meeting is Sep 6, at 9pm ET. Join the Flow app to get the meeting details.
- Suggest an event! Virtual hackathon, contest, job fair, etc...
- Download the Flow iOS native app from the App Store
- Download the macOS native app
Huge thanks to Mahad Farooq - Western U, and Celine Ngyuen - U of Waterloo, for all their help in creating this community.
