editor pane out of sync with document tree

Currently open editor tabs

The two should be in sync, upon deleting or renaming a document the editor tab needs to get updated.
To reproduce run our testsuite, the editor pane in relation to the docs tree is not currently covered by any testcases. We will need to add these
