Problem

We'll soon have UEFI ARM64 images, but we currently don't have a way in the downloads modal to select processor architecture

Proposal

We need to add some kind of interface for choose an ARM64 or AMD64 download

Howdy! Long time fan of elementaryOS, first time contributor. Thought I'd take a swing at this, as I have a passion for design, open source, and anti-fascism.

Here's an early mockup, so I welcome any and all feedback.

Some of my thoughts while designing this:

• I wanted the downloading experience to feel slightly more momentous, and in lieu of a /downloads page, I explored adjusting the heading wording & style to give it more emotional weight.
• I'm not entirely sure what might go in the arch-item-secondary-text section, but one thought with the repeated version number is that "yes, you are getting the same OS version, regardless of processor arch."
• Initially, I wanted to try to hold onto the existing download button design, but it felt like there were two primary actions as opposed to two options, so I opted for a bit of a stylistic change. I followed the design language from the elementaryOS Download Update button here, since it's a very related action.
• Making the magnet button or option for the "direct download" button distinct was a conscious choice - the current "combined download button" approach was a bit confusing, as there is no hover state for either side of the divider, and could lead to the feeling that there is only one button action.

(And zero AI was used in the making of this)

And as a side note, the Recommended System Specs might need updating as well to provide ARM spec recommendations.

More than happy to start implementing this and make a PR, just want to make sure I head in a direction y'all are aiming for.

From your initial design here, my suggestions are:

• "elementary OS" should have a space between "elementary" and "OS"
• I think you can remove the duplicate information "elementary OS 8.1" by each processor architecture. I don't think anyone would assume you would get a different version number based on your hardware. Instead you could update the header to reflect "OS 8.1"
• What might be helpful instead is some description text like "Most PCs and older Macs", or "Apple Silicon, Raspberry Pi, etc"
• I think you can remove the header "Processor Architecture" since this is already explained in the description text
• I don't mind using separated buttons instead of linked buttons, but in dialogs there should only be one button with either "suggested" or "destructive" styling. In your mockup you have 2 buttons with "suggested" styling and the magnet links look like "destructive" actions. So these should probably be plain background buttons instead since they're all equal options
• We do close buttons on the left :)
