Document Waterline environment labels and accepted banner colors #373
Description
Delivered
Delivered in PR #374, merge 894d7c63471f7fa1a73c48c380216ff87c2e1393.
Final exact-head qualification, artifact deployment and actual Pages publication passed. All eight live monitoring guides return HTTP 200 with the waterline-environment-banner section. Each has the production variables, all six palette rows and accepted aliases, gray fallback including #ff0000, resolved embedded configuration/cache guidance and standalone service redeployment instructions. All eight actual table-of-contents links, canonical URLs and nine alternate-language entries passed. English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese were inspected at 390px in light/dark themes with legible CJK fonts and no document overflow.
Live guides: English, Ukrainian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, French, German.
This completes the website portion of Waterline #217, following merged README PR #238. It documents the deliberate CSP palette; no arbitrary-color capability or new application release is claimed. The Waterline owner receives this published-guide receipt for their own issue closure.
Original scope
Problem
The website monitoring guide explains embedded and service-mode Waterline but omits WATERLINE_ENV_NAME and WATERLINE_ENV_COLOR. Operators need a visible production label and the actual supported color contract. Waterline #217 requires this website follow-through; its README portion is merged in Waterline PR #238, source e0484aa349edd9ca567ffaeabc23216d9c908465.
Product review
Document the existing fixed CSP palette. Arbitrary colors are not requested. Embedded resolved env_name/env_color configuration and its cache remain authoritative; environment-variable text alone is not proof of the rendered state. Waterline implementation/release work stays with its SDK/UI owner.
Acceptance
- Show the name and color variables for embedded and service modes, including a production example using a supported red value.
- Document every accepted value:
#0d6efdor#2563ebblue;#198754or#28a745green;#6f42c1or#7746ecpurple;#dc3545red;#fd7e14orange;#ffc107yellow. - State that all other values, including syntactically valid
#ff0000, render gray. Do not promise arbitrary CSS colors. - Explain embedded resolved configuration/cache precedence and the appropriate configuration refresh; distinguish service deployment environment updates.
- Update all seven translations/source hashes, pass documentation checks, and verify all eight published monitoring guides.
- Return the website PR/deployment receipt to the Waterline owner so Preserve managed runtime arguments in Cloud language continuation commands #217 can finish its external-guide requirement.
