[#3250] Purged every domain attached to the Acquia environment and removed the 'domains.txt' list. - #3254
vortex-task-purge-cache-acquia now asks the Acquia Cloud API for the domains attached to the environment (GET /environments/{id}/domains, paged 100 at a time) and purges every one of them: the Acquia domain plus every custom domain or sub-domain, on any environment, CDEs included. hooks/library/domains.txt and VORTEX_TASK_PURGE_CACHE_ACQUIA_DOMAINS_FILE are gone, so there is no domain list to maintain.
Before this, the domain list came only from domains.txt with $TARGET_ENV_REMAP placeholders, so a line that didn't exist on the target environment (say www.example.com on dev) hit break and every later domain kept a stale cache while the job still passed. The file also couldn't describe environments whose domains don't share 1 pattern, purged nothing on any environment other than dev, test, test2 and prod, never purged the *.acquia-sites.com domain unless someone wrote it in, and ran each line through eval echo.
After merge, a purge the API rejects logs the response and continues to the next domain, and a domain lookup that returns an error or no _embedded.items (an HTML error page, an empty body) fails the task like the app and environment lookups already do. Purges go to POST /environments/{id}/actions/clear-caches, which replaces the deprecated clear-varnish endpoint and also clears Platform CDN. Wildcard domains such as *.example.com are skipped. A project that still has a hooks/library/domains.txt can delete it; nothing reads it any more.

New "Retrieving domains attached to <env> environment." step that reads _embedded.items[].hostname from the domains API and drops wildcard entries (extract_json_hostnames).
The lookup pages with limit=100&offset=N. It stops at pagination.total when the response reports one, otherwise at the first short page, and also when the API returns the same page twice. A response without an _embedded.items array fails the task (extract_json_items_count).
Removed VORTEX_TASK_PURGE_CACHE_ACQUIA_DOMAINS_FILE, the file parsing, the $TARGET_ENV_REMAP / $TARGET_ENV placeholder handling and the eval.
break on a rejected purge became continue, and the warning now includes the API response.
Purge endpoint switched from domains/actions/clear-varnish to actions/clear-caches with the same request body.
Template
Removed hooks/library/domains.txt and the VORTEX_TASK_PURGE_CACHE_ACQUIA_DOMAINS_FILE export from hooks/library/purge-cache.sh. Installer fixtures regenerated to match.
Rewritten around shared steps_lookup, steps_lookup_page, steps_purge, domains_json and run_purge helpers. Covers: purging the Acquia and custom domains with a wildcard skipped, an on-demand environment, an environment with no domains, a rejected purge, exhausted status checks, a failed domain lookup, a non-JSON lookup response, a second page after a full page, paging up to a reported total and a repeated page. The existing credential, application and environment failure cases stay.
Docs
hosting/acquia.mdx describes the API-driven list. development/variables.mdx regenerated without VORTEX_TASK_PURGE_CACHE_ACQUIA_DOMAINS_FILE, and TARGET_ENV_REMAP is dropped from the docs variable exclusion list.
Notes for reviewers
clear-caches, the domains listing and its limit/offset paging follow the published Cloud API spec (the acquia/cli copy of acquia-spec.json). None of them has been run against a live Acquia environment from this branch, so a quick check on a real dev deploy is worth doing before release.
Inactive domains (flags.active: false) are still purged. Purging them is harmless, and skipping them would hide a domain that becomes active later.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Acquia cache purges now discover attached non-wildcard domains through the Acquia Cloud API, including for on-demand environments. When enabled, Varnish and Platform CDN caches are also cleared.
Changes
The manual cache-purge task no longer requires a domains file; only the environment setting is needed. Environments without eligible domains are handled without attempting a domain purge.
The Acquia purge task now retrieves domains from the selected environment through the Cloud API, filters wildcard hostnames, and submits cache-clear requests. The change removes local domain-file configuration and environment remapping. Documentation and tests describe domain retrieval, pagination, and purge handling.
The task retrieves domains from the selected environment through paginated API requests. It excludes empty and wildcard hostnames, and stops on empty or repeated pages. The local domains-file setting and environment remapping are removed. Documentation, hook configuration, and tests reflect domain retrieval and pagination.
The task uses the environment clear-caches endpoint for each domain. If a response has no notification URL, the task warns and continues. Tests cover purge requests, status polling, and continuation behavior.
Update the Acquia documentation before merging so operators understand warning-based purge failures and wildcard-only domains that this task does not purge.

Explanation
The title names the main change: the Acquia cache purge now covers every domain attached to the environment, and the domains.txt list is removed. The changeset matches this. The raw summary shows the task now reads domains from the Acquia Cloud API, drops the domains-file setting, and removes hooks/library/domains.txt related config. The title also carries the issue reference [#3250], which is a minor style point and does not affect the verdict.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
[#3250] The issue requires that a missing domain in the middle of the list not stop purging for later domains. The PR changes the no-notification-URL path from break to continue and adds a warning that includes the API response. The task now continues to the next domain, which matches the issue's likely fix. The PR description lists a rejected-purge test, not a test named for a missing domain in the middle of the list. The supplied evidence does not show that this test checks that the third domain is still purged. The behavior is implemented, but the exact acceptance-criteria test is not confirmed from the summary.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
[#3250] The linked issue requires only the break to continue fix and a BATS case for a missing domain in the middle of the list. The PR also makes changes that the issue does not request: (1) domain discovery moves to GET /environments/{id}/domains with paging, replacing the configured list; (2) the purge endpoint changes from clear-varnish to clear-caches, which also clears Platform CDN; (3) VORTEX_TASK_PURGE_CACHE_ACQUIA_DOMAINS_FILE, the file parsing, the $TARGET_ENV_REMAP handling and the eval are removed; (4) hooks/library/domains.txt and its export in hooks/library/purge-cache.sh are removed; (5) documentation, variables.excluded.txt and installer fixtures change to match. None of these changes is needed for the missing-domain loop fix. The PR states that the API behavior has not been tested against a live Acquia environment.
Resolution
Limit this PR to the break to continue change in vortex-task-purge-cache-acquia, the warning for a missing domain, and a BATS case with a missing domain in the middle of the list that asserts the later domain is purged. Move the API domain discovery and paging, the clear-caches endpoint change, the removal of the domains file, placeholder handling and eval, the template and fixture changes, and the documentation updates to a separate linked issue. Alternatively, update #3250 to include those coding requirements before reassessment.

- Around line 133-147: Update the domain retrieval flow to fetch every page from
the Acquia domains endpoint; the current single request omits domains on later

reported total has been reached. Preserve the existing API error handling and
debug logging for each request.
