Diffnav only parses diffs with diff --git headers. I'm trying to use it to view diffs of kubernetes resources. As kubectl emit diffs with diff -u -N, diffnav does nothing. But if the output of kubectl diff is piped to a sed command changing diff -u to diff --git, diffnav does work.
So I don't think there'll be any problem widening this restriction
