Reject unsupported HTTP-source positional arguments before startup #286

Closed

Description

@devantler

🤖 Generated by the Agentic Engineer

Problem

A positional argument stops Go flag parsing. HTTP-source then ignores later listener and configuration options and starts using defaults, which can select an unintended configuration or listen on an unintended address.

Direction

Reject unsupported positional arguments before configuration reads, provider setup or listener creation.

Acceptance criteria

  • Stray positional arguments and trailing arguments after -- fail before binding or reading configuration.
  • Valid explicitly supplied options retain their behavior.
  • CLI usage documents the accepted argument shape.

Rough size: S.

    Completed in merged #294.

    Unsupported positional and trailing arguments are rejected before configuration or listener startup. Valid named options continue through the real startup path.

    All required CI passed at the reviewed signed source head. The combined release also passed targeted race regressions and the complete real-browser suite. The accepted implementation is on protected main.

    Production rollout is tracked separately in devantler-tech/platform#4510; this closure does not assert that the new release is deployed or activate additional features.
