Preserve completed contract health when a caller cancels a probe #284

Closed

Description

🤖 Generated by the Agentic Engineer

Problem

Cancelling a caller's contract probe replaces a previously completed healthy observation with ContractUnavailable and advances its timestamp. Caller abandonment is not evidence that the product contract failed.

Direction

Normalize caller cancellation at fetch completion and exclude it from stored health changes while releasing request capacity.

Acceptance criteria

  • Cancellation at relevant fetch/read boundaries preserves completed health and timestamps.
  • Capacity is released and later probes can run.
  • An independent connector timeout still withdraws readiness.

Rough size: M.

    Completed in merged #294.

Caller cancellation preserves the completed health observation and its timestamp, releases probe capacity, and leaves independent connector failures able to withdraw readiness. TLS transport, body and close cancellation regressions and race checks pass.

All required CI passed at the reviewed signed source head. The combined release also passed targeted race regressions and the complete real-browser suite. The accepted implementation is on protected main.

Production rollout is tracked separately in devantler-tech/platform#4510; this closure does not assert that the new release is deployed or activate additional features.
