Roadmap: agent-plugins marketplace β reach & feature-completenessΒ #38
Description
π€ Generated by the Agentic Engineer
Agent Plugins provides category-based bundles for VS Code, GitHub Copilot CLI and Claude Code. The remaining product work is verified native consumption, canonical consumer convergence and a release rollout supported by observed outcomes.
Delivered foundation
The catalogue at the reviewed source contains 8 plugins, 26 skills, 5 agents and two MCP servers, verified on 2026-10-06. CI checks manifests, declared resources, source provenance, synchronized-skill boundaries, cache versions and desired-state digests. These packaging checks do not establish native discovery or invocation.
The surveyor contract guards (#95), adapter installation consistency (#161) and discoverable guarded CI classifier (#200) are delivered. They are foundations for the remaining consumer acceptance work, rather than outstanding implementation tasks.
Remaining acceptance
- Native discovery and usable tools β Verify VS Code discovery of bundled plugin agents and settle the agent filename conventionΒ #74: verify the agent picker and effective read, search and shell capabilities in the supported applications. Current VS Code documentation maps Claude tool names; a static mapping or metadata inventory alone does not satisfy the native test.
- Canonical autonomous roles β Deliver reusable Agentic Engineer definitions through canonical sourcesΒ #51: finish consumer convergence and the measured microagent decision in Evaluate micro-agent decomposition for Agentic EngineerΒ #128. Deployment facts remain in consumer contracts; source parity does not prove a fresh loaded runtime.
- First-class improver consumption β Productize the agent-improver routine as a first-class plugin capabilityΒ #76: verify native loading and actual invocation. Listing a registered agent does not establish that it can perform its role.
- Marketplace release rollout β feat(ci): cut semver releases so the marketplace has a version to pinΒ #101 and Review and retire the marketplace release-automation rollout flagsΒ #277: complete real release-cycle and recovery observations before deciding unattended proposal/publication defaults. Preparation, draft proposal and publication remain separate gated operations; this roadmap enables no rollout flag.
- Safe GitOps audit restoration β Restore GitOps repository audits from the corrected upstream skillΒ #292: the corrected catalogue source is delivered in fix(catalogue): pin corrected GitOps audit sourceΒ agent-skills#268. Complete Preserve audit failures before restoring the GitOps bundleΒ #543's scan-failure repairs and upstream helper tests before restoring the plugin and Platform installation, then evaluate each native consumer path.
The native direct-child inventory was read completely on 2026-10-06: 100 children, 96 closed and four open (#51, #74, #76 and #101). Those closed children are historical deliveries, not new work from this round. Nested issues and the linked restoration backlog carry the remaining detailed acceptance criteria and ownership.
Keep the roadmap open until its remaining acceptance is observed. Additions should address a demonstrated user need, fit a coherent category and satisfy the supported consumers; existing actionable delivery work takes priority over new inventory.
