✨ Infra Forge

Rust CI Release License

Declare the State. Command the Lifecycle. Own the Infrastructure.

A Rust-powered infrastructure system engineered to bring provisioning, deployment, operations, and recovery under one coherent language of automation, reliability, and control.

Stop juggling scripts. Start commanding complete environments.

🎯 Overview

One source of intent. Every environment. Total control.

Modern infrastructure is scattered across scripts, providers, deployment tools, and operational dashboards. The result is fragmented state, unpredictable changes, and costly recovery.

Infra Forge brings the entire lifecycle into one deliberate operating model: declare what should exist, inspect the plan, execute safely, and continuously reason about the result.

The ambition: make complex infrastructure feel programmable without hiding its consequences.

📦 Download

The latest release — checksummed, attested, one command per platform.

infra answers infra hello and infra --version.

Linux and macOS:

curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -LsSf https://github.com/comstrx/infrax/releases/latest/download/infra-installer.sh | sh

Windows (PowerShell):

& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm https://github.com/comstrx/infrax/releases/latest/download/infra-installer.ps1)))

From source:

git clone https://github.com/comstrx/infrax.git
cd infrax
cargo run --release -- hello

Every asset carries a .sha256 sidecar and build provenance: gh attestation verify <asset> --owner comstrx.

🧩 Capabilities

A continuously evolving foundation for infrastructure operations.

Declarative Manifests & Environments · Resource Graphs & Planning · Provisioning & Reconciliation · Deployments & Rollbacks · State & Drift Detection · Services & Package Management · Cloud & Container Integration · Networking & Storage · Secrets & Policy Controls · Health, Audit & Observability

From a single machine to distributed environments, each capability is designed to belong to the same operational lifecycle.

One vocabulary. Every resource. Endless possibilities.

Single Responsibility · Desired-State Control · Explicit Plans · Provider Independence · Recoverable Operations

Manifests own product-specific intent. The reusable system owns resource planning, execution, state, and verification. Providers implement the external operations behind explicit contracts.

No hardcoded environments. No tangled deployment scripts. No invisible changes.

🧠 Engineering

Infrastructure isn't a collection of commands. It's a controlled system.

Every operation has an owner, a declared target, known dependencies, and a verifiable outcome. Planning and execution remain separate; state is managed deliberately, and partial failures are treated as recoverable conditions rather than afterthoughts.

Mature infrastructure tools remain valuable integration points. Custom engineering is justified only when it strengthens control, reliability, portability, or the operator's experience.

Less orchestration chaos. More deterministic engineering.

⚡ Performance

Converge efficiently. Operate predictably. Waste nothing.

Dependency-Aware Scheduling · Incremental Planning · Bounded Concurrency · Efficient State Access · Reusable Connections · Minimal Runtime Overhead · Targeted Reconciliation

Optimization is evaluated against real infrastructure workloads: planning time, reconciliation latency, resource consumption, provider calls, and recovery behavior.

The objective is fast, resource-conscious operations without sacrificing correctness or operational clarity.

Efficiency is measured. Reliability is non-negotiable.

🛡️ Security

Every change must be intentional. Every privilege must be earned.

Least privilege, explicit approvals for destructive operations, secret references instead of embedded credentials, controlled state access, and auditable actions shape the design.

Locking, atomic state updates, bounded retries, failure recovery, and reviewable plans protect infrastructure from accidental drift, conflicting operations, and partial execution.

No blind applies. No silent escalation. No secrets in state.

🧪 Development

Build with discipline. Verify with evidence. Evolve with confidence.

A focused Rust codebase backed by strict linting, tests, operational safety checks, and targeted benchmarks. Every capability must have clear contracts and observable failure behavior.

cargo clippy --workspace --all-targets --all-features --locked -- -D warnings
cargo test --workspace --all-features --locked

Engineering excellence isn't a milestone. It's the standard.
