On X, @ehsanshares suggested showing Godmode running on an actual desktop in the hero, and we said we'd do it. The hero loop was a rendered HyperFrames animation ("Acme Billing"). This swaps it for a real recording.

What's in the recording

  • A fresh Godmode v0.2.18 (own data folder, own licence, no private data) on a real macOS desktop with menu bar and clock, next to its own Chrome window.
  • One typed task: "Look up Notion, Linear and Slack pricing in the browser and give me one short table: what a 10-person team pays per month on the cheapest paid plan."
  • It opens the three pricing pages and answers with the table. Nothing is staged or composited; it's only cut and sped up (typing 1.5x, work about 4.5x, the result in real time with a slow zoom), and the loop crossfades into its start.

Changes

  • public/media/hero.{mp4,webm} and hero-poster.{jpg,webp}: the new loop (21.9 s, 2.3 MB mp4 vs 3.7 MB before).
  • Hero.astro: the first-paint image is a frame of the recording; the window bar reads "Real screen recording · sped up"; alt/aria text describe the recording; two floating chips now say what the recording shows ("Its own Chrome window", "Three sites, one table") instead of the vault chips.
  • video/build.sh: hero is no longer in the default set, so ./build.sh doesn't render the animation over the recording. The HyperFrames source stays for ads.

Checked locally with astro dev at 1440x900 and 390x844: the video autoplays and loops, and the result table is readable at the end.

A fresh Godmode on a real Mac desktop looks up Notion, Linear and Slack
pricing in its own Chrome window and answers with a table, sped up
(typing 1.5x, work ~4.5x, result in real time with a zoom). The window
bar says so, the first-paint image and the floating chips match what
the recording shows. build.sh no longer renders the old animation over it
by default.
