Telepen Numeric

Telepen Numeric is a variant of the Telepen symbology for efficient encoding of numeric data.

Variants:

Standards: USS Telepen.

Data and Options

  • The data is provided as pairs of digits, where the second digit of a pair may be X, as in 0X, 1X, etc. The singular values ^000 to ^015 and ^127 can also be encoded using the parse option.
  • With the parse option, ^016 (DLE) switches the rest of the data to full ASCII, for example for an odd final digit or a suffix. It cannot be the first character.
  • The aimstartstop option uses the start and stop characters of the AIM Uniform Symbology Specification, which tell a reader that the symbol begins with compressed numeric data, so that it need not be configured for numeric mode.
  • When the parse option is specified, any instances of ^NNN in the data field are replaced with their equivalent ASCII value, useful for specifying unprintable characters.
  • The mandatory check digit is automatically included.

Examples
