Follow-up to #155: its review found the design doc still cites the deleted local withoutNames. The filter is withoutTraceNames in @bugsee/capture.

Review of #162: docs-only fix

  • Read the diff and the surrounding code
  • Verify the new identifiers exist in the code

Findings: none.

I checked the one-line change in docs/design/system-traces-expansion.md:504 against the code:

  • withoutTraceNames is exported from @bugsee/capture (packages/capture/src/system-traces-provider.ts:18, re-exported in index.ts:70). browser/src/launch.ts:1119 and webview/src/launch.ts:782 both call it.
  • producerOwnedNames is defined at packages/browser/src/launch.ts:667 and used at line 1121.
  • The old withoutNames name has no remaining references in .ts or .md files. A repo-wide grep for both names finds only the updated doc line and the code above.
  • The new wording splits the helper (withoutTraceNames, in @bugsee/capture) from the owned-name set (producerOwnedNames, in the browser package). That matches how the code is laid out.

One optional note, not a defect: packages/webview/src/launch.ts:454 has its own local producerOwnedNames. The doc sentence is about the browser path and says packages/browser/src/launch.ts, so it is accurate as written.

Overall risk: Low. Documentation only, with no runtime or test impact.

Merge recommendation: Approve and merge.

Positives: The change is small, matches the code, and cites the package that owns the filter.

I did not run tests or tools. The change doesn't touch code, so I only read the files and grepped.
