NeoDB is an open-source, decentralized cultural tracking service for the Fediverse and Atmosphere. It helps users manage, mark, share, and discover collections, reviews, and ratings for cultural products including books, movies, TV shows, music albums, games, podcasts, and performances.
Key Features & Olares Adaptation:
Full Cultural Catalog & Collections: Mark items as wishlist, in progress, complete, or dropped; rate, write notes, and review with custom collections.
Fediverse & ActivityPub Federation: Fully compatible with ActivityPub and ATProto, allowing cross-platform interactions and following across Mastodon, Takahē, and other Fediverse instances.
Data Import: One-click import for reading and watch lists from Douban, Goodreads, Letterboxd, Steam, and StoryGraph.
Same-Origin Single-Pod Architecture: Deployed as a unified Pod with an internal Nginx reverse-proxy fronting the Web, API, and Takahē federation backends to completely prevent CORS issues.
Platform Middleware Integration: Utilizes Olares PostgreSQL (with isolated neodb and takahe databases) and Redis middleware, alongside an embedded Typesense sidecar for high-performance full-text search.
Strict Compliance: Pinned image tags (0.19.6.3 and 26.0), 256x256 icon under 512KB, and complete en-US/zh-CN internationalization.
