In #3809, description states that "This is fully backwards compatible. No code changes required."
This may be not entirely correct. For example, after using Bedrock's InvokeModelWithBidirectionalStreamAsync(), Aws::ShutdownAPI(options) lock indefinitely.
Regression confirmed by building and using both 1.11.800 and 1.11.801 version with the same test code.
Regression Issue
Select this option if this issue appears to be a regression.
Expected Behavior
Aws::ShutdownAPI() exits cleanly after limited amount of time
Current Behavior
Aws::ShutdownAPI() does not exit.
Reproduction Steps
Implement Sonic streaming client and unit tests to use InvokeModelWithBidirectionalStreamAsync() with audio streaming.
Aws::InitAPI()
invoke tests
Aws::ShutdownAPI() -- hangs here
Possible Solution
Is there an API call I could use to unblock the resources ShutdownAPI() may be waiting on?

can you provide a reproducible example where it locks? a minimal reproducible example
just confirming you are using the CRT client?

actually we pushed a related fix in 1.11.832, so i would also suggest testing against main as the issue may already be resolved.
also you should see a large improvement on CPU usage after picking this up
