Summary

Renames the pytest-plugin package from simple_module_testing to simple_module_test. PyPI distribution name becomes simple-module-test (was simple-module-testing).

What changed

  • Renamed framework/testing/simple_module_testing/ directory to framework/testing/simple_module_test/ (via git mv, history preserved).
  • framework/testing/pyproject.toml: project name, pytest11 entry-point key + value, and hatch packages list updated.
  • All 19 import sites updated (framework tests, module tests, host conftest, integration/benchmark tests, scripts, scaffolding template + scaffolding.py, app_builder docstring, README, docs, release-workflow PyPI matrix).
  • CHANGELOG.md 0.0.1 entry and dated plan/spec docs left untouched as historical record.

Breaking change

This is a breaking rename. Anyone with simple_module_testing pinned in their dependencies will need to switch to simple_module_test. The old package on PyPI is unchanged; the next release will publish under the new name.

Test plan

  • uv sync --all-packages — package resolves as simple-module-test 0.0.1
  • make test-py — 977 passed, 6 deselected
  • uv run ruff format --check ., ruff check ., ty check, npx biome ci . — all clean
  • make doctor — no new warnings (pre-existing SM003 unrelated)
  • CI to confirm JS typecheck on a fresh clone (worktree had no node_modules)

Renames the pytest-plugin package, its directory, all imports/templates,
and the release-workflow PyPI matrix entry. PyPI distribution name
becomes simple-module-test (was simple-module-testing). The 0.0.1
CHANGELOG entry is left untouched as a historical record.
