Summary

The Visual Studio Marketplace rejects the extension with: "Publisher display name (AMD) in Marketplace and Author name (AMD - Advanced Micro Devices) in the extension need to be the same to publish the extension."

The author name is the Publisher attribute on <Identity> in visual-studio/extension/source.extension.vsixmanifest. It changes from AMD - Advanced Micro Devices to AMD, matching the Marketplace publisher display name.

The extension ID (AMD.git-time-lapse-vs) is unchanged, so existing installs still upgrade in place. Visual Studio's Extensions dialog will show the author as "AMD".

Test plan

  • Visual Studio VSIX check builds, packages and passes the VSIX contents check

… name

The Visual Studio Marketplace only publishes an extension whose author
(the Publisher attribute of Identity in source.extension.vsixmanifest)
matches the publisher's display name, which is "AMD". It was "AMD -
Advanced Micro Devices", so publishing was rejected. The extension ID
is unchanged.
