Why

The Digital Omnibus is now adopted law (Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, in force July 27, 2026). It moved the site's core deadline: standalone Annex III high-risk obligations now apply December 2, 2027 (was August 2, 2026), and the Annex I regulated-product route moves to August 2, 2028. The site still called it a "provisional agreement" and counted down to the old date.

Value

Converges every regulatory claim on the current legal state and pivots the deadline messaging to a dual-date framing: enforcement of GPAI rules, prohibitions, transparency, and AI literacy began August 2, 2026 (today), while the Annex III deadline that drives the countdown badge is now December 2, 2027. Also fixes a live conflation in the rule registry (clinical decision support, an Annex I item, was listed under an Annex III row) and syncs CLAUDE.md, the frontend-review checklist, and all cross-referenced docs to one canonical baseline.

To check

  • Deadline badge on / shows the new "DAYS UNTIL HIGH-RISK OBLIGATIONS APPLY" wording and a sane day count, in both themes
  • Regulatory Reality section: new headline, updated stat card (Dec 2, 2027), new "In force now" callout renders correctly above the procurement callout
  • /product rule registry row 4 reads "Credit scoring, employment screening, biometric identification"
  • Waitlist headline and footer regulatory note read correctly
  • No em dashes or "provisional agreement" phrasing slipped back in

Annex III high-risk obligations moved to Dec 2, 2027 and Annex I to
Aug 2, 2028. The Omnibus is now adopted law, not a provisional
agreement. Pivots the deadline badge, hero, and regulatory-reality
section to a dual-date framing: enforcement began Aug 2, 2026 for
GPAI/prohibitions/transparency/AI literacy, Annex III applies Dec 2,
2027. Fixes a live Annex I/Annex III conflation in the rule registry
and syncs CLAUDE.md, the frontend-review checklist, and docs to the
new baseline.

@cmin764 cmin764 self-assigned this Aug 2, 2026
Content-marking under Article 50(2) has a grace period through
Dec 2, 2026 for systems already on the market; the copy said it
"already applies" with no qualifier. Splits disclosure (no grace
period) from content-marking (grace period) so the claim matches
the baseline this same PR documents.
Extracts a local Callout component so inForceNow and procurement
stop duplicating the same markup, tightens the hero sentence split,
and drops the third repetition of the Dec 2027 Annex III date from
the in-force-now callout (already stated in the body paragraph and
the stat card above it).
