🐺 About Me

I'm an independent systems engineer, builder, and open-source contributor based in the US Mountain West. At heart, I'm a hands-on developer who loves nothing more than digging into complex codebases, untangling tricky architectural issues, and shipping reliable code that just works.

  • Why I build: Software isn't just an abstract intellectual exercise for me—it's craft, discipline, and my way of providing for my kids. Every commit I push is guided by pride in workmanship, respect for maintainers' time, and the conviction that quality code speaks for itself.
  • My philosophy: Zero hype, zero unnecessary complexity. I believe in minimal diffs, hermetic test reproduction, and strict contract fidelity. If a bug exists, reproduce it in isolation first. If a system works, make it observable and maintainable.
  • Looking for the pack: While I'm comfortable operating autonomously as a lone wolf, I'm always looking to connect, collaborate, and build alongside high-trust teams, ambitious open-source communities, and talented engineers.
  • Around the machine: When I'm not in an editor, you'll find me tinkering with Linux kernel configurations, profiling async system flows, or exploring the edge of distributed AI agent architectures. rwx isn't just a handle—it's a lifelong appreciation for Unix principles: small sharp tools, composability, and explicit boundaries.
  • 🕹️ 16-Bit Roots & The Sega Genesis: Massive soft spot for retro hardware and 16-bit engineering—especially the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive). There's something timeless about what developers coaxed out of a Motorola 68000, a Z80 coprocessor, and that iconic Yamaha YM2612 FM synthesis sound chip. Pushing raw silicon to its absolute limit under unforgiving constraints was the original masterclass in low-level craftsmanship, and that same mindset—getting maximum performance and elegance with zero wasted cycles—informs how I approach systems architecture today.

🔭 What I'm Focused On

  • Autonomous Agent Swarms & Topologies: Designing resilient multi-agent runtimes, conversational turn integrity, and concurrent task routing protocols (active contributor to kyegomez/swarms).
  • Distributed Observability & Telemetry: Architecting OpenTelemetry (OTel) instrumentation across distributed agent execution graphs, custom span tracking, and latency profiling.
  • Ecosystem & API Hardening: Engineering defensive cloud integrations (OAuth2/OIDC, Microsoft 365, Notion, Zapier, ClickUp, USGS Feeds) with ASGI exception middleware and strict schema validation on BasedHardware/omi.
  • CI/CD & Repository Security: Hardening GitHub Actions pipelines with least privilege, automated check manifests, and coordinated vulnerability disclosure via GHSA/PVR.
