Summary

Adds 13 citations to app/src/data/citations.json (which website/src/data/citations.json links to), with one 1200×675 card image each in app/public/assets/citations/. The entries come from the Teamverse citations table: 274 of its 347 PolicyEngine citations were not on the website, and these are the highest-profile ones that I could confirm at the source.

The new entries go at the top of the array, newest first. The page sorts by date, so the position only keeps this diff away from the lines that #1125, #1246 and #1248 change.

Notes for review:

  • The Guardian: the mention lists risks from HM Treasury's algorithmic transparency record for PolicyEngine. It is a reference, not an endorsement. The GOV.UK record is already on the page.
  • The Hackathon report: it describes PolicyEngine's own hackathon project, so it is partly self-described.
  • Living Wage Institute: the page already has the Institute's blog post on the partnership. This entry is the technical documentation on the MIT calculator site.
  • Images: the report covers are crops of each document's first page. CRFB and Equitable Growth use the publisher's own share image. The Guardian, Express and SMF cards are text cards (outlet, headline, byline and date) and use no article photos.

Considered, not added

  • The Times, "How civil servants really use AI…" (17 Dec 2024): the body is paywalled, and I could not confirm the PolicyEngine sentence.
  • The National (Scotland), "Labour are cutting benefits in ways the Tories only dreamt of" (Mar 2025): it cites PolicyEngine's estimate of 134,000 people in poverty, but the site blocks automated access, and the only copy found is on inkl.
  • Government of Spain, HispanIA 2040: the English edition names PolicyEngine, but the release date is not clear (January 2025 Spanish release, March 2025 English PDF).
  • SERV (Social and Economic Council of Flanders), digitalisation note (Nov 2025): it is a secretariat note, and it has no clear publication date.
  • Brookings (Calame & Watson): this entry is already in Add Brookings EITC/CTC citation (Calame & Watson 2026) #1125.

Test plan

  • citations.json parses. There are 98 entries and no duplicate URLs, and every image file exists.
  • prettier --no-config --check app/src/data/citations.json passes.
  • Open /us/citations, /uk/citations and the global filter on the Vercel preview. Check that each new card shows its image, outlet and date.

Nine US entries (BEA, Census Bureau, NBER, CRFB, Urban Institute, Aspen
Institute, Equitable Growth, Living Wage Institute, U.S. House), three UK
entries (The Guardian, Daily Express, Social Market Foundation) and one
global entry (Think7). Each mention was checked at the source, and each
date is the publisher's own.
