Adds App Launch (cloud.caesium.applaunch) to the Native OpenAction plugins section.

App Launch puts installed desktop applications on Stream Deck keys. You pick an app from a searchable list, the key shows its icon and name, and pressing the key launches it with gtk-launch. Icons can be full colour, white, black or a custom colour, and names follow the language you choose. Linux only.

Checklist

  • Repository has the openaction topic and a sidebar description
  • name and author match manifest.json ("App Launch" / "Caesium Cloud")
  • Catalogue key is the bundle ID; the action UUID is cloud.caesium.applaunch.launch
  • description matches the repository sidebar description
  • Latest release includes a .zip
  • Icon added as icons/cloud.caesium.applaunch.png (288x288 PNG, copied from the plugin's icons/plugin@2x.png)
  • Entry placed in the Native section, sorted by repository URL
  • python validate_submission.py --base upstream/main --head HEAD passes locally

Notes

  • Tested on Fedora Workstation 44 (GNOME, Wayland) with OpenDeck 2.14, including a full restart of OpenDeck and a clean install from the release zip. I have not tested other distributions.
  • The plugin was written with an AI assistant (Claude), so ai_assisted is set. A full specification and test plan is in the repository at docs/spec2.md.

Adds App Launch, an OpenDeck plugin that puts installed desktop applications
on keys with their icons and launches them with gtk-launch.

What does this provide over the alread existing Linux App Launcher Plugin from the OpenDeck Dev himself?

Also what happens on systems that don't have "gtk-launch" because they are KDE based for example.

This is just a duplicate of the existing plugin. Sure, it adds black and white versions of app images or the app name text, but users can already set those themselves.
